A gorgeous little 100 year old cottage, 2 bedrooms, completely remodelled and fresh, in a superb location, just waiting to be your home away from home.

The space

Positioned in Subiaco's most desirable pocket, known locally as "the golden triangle", this adorable little home is located on Park Street, one of Subiaco's most sought after streets for real estate with it's collection of historic cottages and semi-detached homes together with some interesting more modern homes. Park Lane cottage is a delightful little house. Originally built in 1903 as a "workers cottage" for the timber industry which thrived in Subiaco through the late 1800's until early 1900's, Park Lane cottage has seen many renovations and restorations in it's more than 100 year history. The latest of these renovations is only months old and offers a magnificent sparkling white modern open plan kitchen which opens up the entire width of the house to a north facing rear deck overlooking a courtyard garden. There is also a lovely new bathroom, also sparking white. The central lounge room is in keeping with the character of the home (except for the large flat screen TV) and has comfortable traditional leather furniture and a wonderful natural gas coal fire which springs to life with the press of a button.

The house has it's own street frontage with undercover parking for 1 vehicle at the rear. It has two bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and the other with a double.

Only 2 doors from the house is Richard Diggins park, a wonderful green space which is a mecca for locals with their dogs and children. It also has some wonderful quiet times during the day and is the perfect spot to sit on a park bench or on the lush green lawns and read a book, or just sit and take in the clear blue skies and wonderful weather which we are so proud of here in our lovely city of Perth.

Park Street runs west to Rokeby Road, which is one of Perth's favourite shopping areas with restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, fashion, supermarkets and fresh food markets, all within a very short walk from the house.

Our properties are all fully "self catered" - once you arrive and settle in we won't interrupt you with cleaning and servicing. If you would like your bed made and your house cleaned, please let us know and we would be happy to come and do your housework for you at a cost of $100 per time. If you would just like a quick tidy up and your beds made, it would be $40 per hour.

The house is also located centrally and close to 5 major hospitals – St John of God, King Edward Memorial, Princess Margaret Children's Hospital, Sir Charles Gardiner and Royal Perth. It is only a short walk to Patterson Stadium (formerly Subiaco Oval), 2km to the Perth CBD and 5km to delightful Matilda Bay and the University of Western Australia. Also just a short distance away are the Perth Convention Centre, the new Perth Arena complex, the Perth Theatre Centre, His Majesty's Theatre, the Perth Museum and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

Please leave our house in a clean and tidy condition with all dishes washed and returned to their correct places. An extra cleaning charge will be deducted from your bond if the property is left in an overly dirty or untidy state, or if ovens, cook tops and bbqs are left in a dirty and grimy state, or linen or towels are badly stained (fake tan, makeup and hair dye being the worst culprits). We will endeavour to provide photographic evidence in such cases. No security bond will be withheld unless we have entered into, or attempted to enter into discussions with you first. The bond will only be withheld in cases of damage, theft or extra cleaning if required.

Please no cooking of strong smelling foods such as curries or seafood in the houses. It is very difficult to remove these strong food odours and we like to keep our houses smelling nice and fresh for following guests.

Sorry but we have a strict no party policy. Large or noisy gatherings will not be tolerated in our peaceful residential neighbourhoods.

Please place all household rubbish in bin bags (kept in the kitchen) and place in large council bin located in the car parking area at the rear of the cottage. Try to recycle where possible. On Sunday evenings we will collect and place the bin and recycling bags on the street verge outside the house for council collection.

This unit is nice and cozy, until it got cold. Looking at the layout, it turns out the "remodeling" only added heat/air conditioning to only 2 out of the 5 rooms. Front bedroom and lounge room, (with fireplace), are toasty warm. Middle bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen were an icebox. Told the owner that the listing was misleading, her response was, "If you're cold, there's a blanket in the spare room." "You Americans always expect temperature control in every room!" There were no doorknobs. The only way in or out of the unit, from the inside or outside was to use the key. In case of fire or emergency, I left the key in the lock at night, hoping I could get out fast enough. Kitchen stove would not light. Had to use matches. Told the host and nothing was done to improve the situation. There was no soap. No laundry detergent. I liked the fireplace in the lounge room and loved the location to the shops, but still was not worth the money.

Great little place in a prime location, so close to cafes, shops, parks and the city however still very quiet. Nola was so easy to deal with and everything was very clean and tidy. Would stay again without hesitation!

This cottage was perfect for us tripping across the country to care for a sick Aunt at a nearby hospital. Close proximity to the city, Kings Park, hospital and most importantly restaurants and shops. Nola was very responsive and caring to our needs. The cottage was personal, very comfortable and well equipped. We recommend it.

Park Street Cottage is in the perfect location in Perth, on a quiet, tree lined street, but just a couple of blocks from the main street of Subiaco and all the amenities you could need. A park and playground is just two house away and was perfect for both our dog and son. The house was very well appointed with everything you would want or expect and was very comfortable. There was a cozy fireplace and lots of blankets which was perfect for the winter. The kitchen has been beautifully remodeled and was very easy to cook in. Parking was convenient too. We hope to return soon and would stay here again without a doubt.

This is the second time I have stayed in one of Nola's properties, with my husband and three children. I have been extremely happy with our accommodation both times. Nola is an excellent host. This particular cottage is in such a great location. So close to Rokeby Road and easy walking distance to hospitals and specialists.

Nola was in touch quickly, made us feel welcome and explained everything clearly. Cottage was in a very handy location with parking at rear and on the street, park next door for kids and coffee and restaurants just down the street.
