Little house in the archeological part of Sant'Antioco.
What people love about my house: it is very quiet and silent, the temperature inside the house is very cool and fresh even when outside it is very hot, and they like the patio with aromatic plants. I just planted also a lemon tree.
What people like less: there is not so much natural light and the bedroom has no window, but this is the reason why the temperature is very cool and fresh also in August.

The space
Apartment in the historic archeological part of Sant'Antioco, it has only one bedroom but it is quite big. There is a kitchen with everything you need, a living room with fireplace, a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and an entrance room. There is also a 30 squared meters patio outside with a table, chairs, a gazebo a barbecue and aromatic plants.
The bedroom is an internal room so it doesn't have its own window but it has two doors, one brings to the entrance room that has a window and the other one brings to the living room that has another window so, if you open both windows and the doors, air can circulate easily. Moreover, the fact that there is no window in that room, makes it very cool during summer and and also very silent.

This was a big house that I divided into two apartments but if you would like to book the entire house you can.
This is a very old building and I tried to keep as many original things as I could, because they remind me of my childhood at my grandmother's house.

Due to the very thick walls, the house is very cool during summer, despite the weather outside is very hot. It is also very warm during winter and the fireplace makes this apartment suitable also for winter holidays, because the thick walls keep the house warm (the fireplace is in the center of the house).

This island in fact is very interesting to explore also during fall and winter and during the first months of spring. Outside of the touristic season the weather is not so hot and that is the right time to do really interesting trekkings in the island and also in the rest of the Sulcis area and to enjoy the beaches when they are almost empty and quiet.

Every monday and thursday around 11,30 in the morning Mr. Carmelo stops his van right in front of the door and sells fresh fruit and vegetables that come from the Villacidro area and are very delicious.

In walking distance you can find the museum, the ancient church with catacombs and all the archeological sites of the town, the archeological area is literally behind the corner! On Friday nights there are tours of this area that start around 9,00 pm (you buy the tickets at the ethnographic museum), I think this area is very charming especially at night so I highly recommend this tour. The nearest beach is 6 km away, but the island is not so big so every beach is near, on the south east and north west of the island there are sandy beaches and on the south west there are rocks, it is very nice going snorkeling there, and the rocks are very smooth becuse of the winter waves!

During the summer you con enjoy the beutiful sea and many festivals, (at the end of August and beginning of September there are some famous jazz and blues festivals in towns nearby). In spring and autumn you can go hiking and trekking and discover the beautiful scenery and the archeological sites hidden in the countryside. Two weeks after Easter on Monday there is the festival of the town. During the winter it is the right place if you want to relax, discover the archeological spots of the island and stay away from crowded places. The winter here is cold but sunny, so if you come from northern Europe you can have a break from the dark even during winter. This house is also a good base for going kite surfing in Punta Trettu. I would recommend coming to Sant'Antioco in June and September, this months are the best because you can enjoy the beautiful beaches when they are almost empty, it is so peaceful and relaxing. The hot weather usually lasts until the end of October. I also like winter in my island, it is the most peaceful moment of the year and the sun shines also during cold days!

This house was built at the end of 1800 by my grand grand grand parents and it was also my grandmother's house, this is why it has a big sentimental value to me and I find it very charming. Everything here is a childhood memory and I feel like every single piece of this house tells a story about a time we come from, but that can be experienced only through stories told by elder people.

Guest access
You can use the whole house and everything is inside.

Other things to note
The house doesn't have a lot of natural light, the bedroom is the darkest room beacuse it doesn't have its own window, but this keeps the house very cool and fresh also during very hot days, and moreover the bedroom is very silent.

The neighborhood is very quiet, in walking distance there is the square of the ancient church where you can do a guided tour to the catacombs, in the nerby you can also find the museum and many phoenician archeological sites.

In this square you can also find a nice pizzeria, a café, a small grocery store, a bakery and a newspapers shop.

The house is on the street that goes to the beaches, so you don't have to cross the entire town when you want to go there.

I love houses that have a story to tell. My houses are very special for me and I like sharing their atmosphere by hosting people that will have a nice memory of their holiday and will keep my places alive for a while. I like antiques, swimming in the sea, fireplaces and cats.
