Artist house with private garden at the top of a hill in a tiny village. Larger village below with great Thursday market. Several bakeries, butchers and regular shopping. Close to some of the most beautiful villages in France.
There is a futon couch in the living area that folds down to become a double bed. There are two double beds upstairs with a new wall between them, as well as a twin bed on the landing behind the stairs, the futon couch is downstairs. The toilet and washing machine are in the back room on the first floor, there is no toilet upstairs, but there are chamber pots available. The house is a livable art project in a constant state of improvements by adding mosaics and creature comforts. Please also note the photo of the stairway, it may not be appropriate for young children or older people. This isn't a modern house! The garden is wonderful in the spring/summer and fall. There is a map for walking trails outside the Mairie. The dumpsters for trash and recyclables are just around the corner and the recycle bins are in the Mairie parking lot.
The guest will have access to the entire house and garden.
Interaction with guests
Guests can interact as much as they like. Someone will always meet the guests for instructions and information on the area. If not by me, by my representative and friend, Tom, who speaks French and English fluently.
There is a washing machine which the guests are welcome to use, and a clothes line. Pets are welcome but there will be a pet desposit required. The garden isn't entirely enclosed.
I have been a visual artist, painter, for 40 years I have also renovated 20+ houses in my lifetime, mostly period homes from the 18th century to the present. I am an avid traveler and enjoy museums, architecture and fine foods. Politics is my guilty pleasure.
