Interaction with guests
We enjoy sharing our lake and community with guests and since our home is on the same property we are close at hand for any questions. Each home offers a great deal of privacy from the other. We have been known to share a sunset beverage with guests by the laguna or give guests a tour of the town so they can get their bearings.
Other things to note
There are a number of boat tours on the lake as well as a group who offers wonderful kayak tours including one and two day outings. We'd be happy to advise you on your options.
No gatherings of folks not included in renting party without permission, no late night noise (we have neighbors), special arrangement for night arrivals, no smoking inside the Cabana. We do welcome infants but all equipment would have to come with the guest unless we could round some up from friends.
We are Peggy and Scott, a couple in our mid sixties. We moved to Bacalar about 12 years ago with my Mom who had advanced stage dementia. Living here in this gentle culture on a beautiful lake was our gift to her. When she left us, we decided to stay and as our background is in technology, web design, and education we began a small web business. Working with people here, living on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, learning about new plants, birds, animals and a different culture has been a wonderful experience. We have had many friends visit over the years and enjoy sharing our life here. We have had a few rental guests and find we enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to what we have learned about the lake, the culture, the Bacalar area, and the other parts of Mexico we have explored.
Our property lends itself to two separate households. We have our home and just a bit set back is our two bedroom, two bath, complete kitchen, Cabana. All surrounded by gardens. On the lake is a small dock and a palapa with hammocks, chairs and tables.
