Staying at the Historical Parker house is like stepping back in time (with the modern items needed to make for a comfortable stay). We had a vacation that will long remembered.

The property is well located and allows easy access to Blue Hill and the peninsula. The home is a classic old Maine home, but the space was clean and well maintained with a newly remodeled kitchen and the latest wifi and entertainment amenities. John was attentive and had we ne…

It was lovely and beautiful and spacious and well-stocked and delightful......Damon was gracious and wonderful. The space heaters in the bedrooms were a godsend. The couch in the parlour is very comfortable and the wool blankets from the upstairs bedrooms are very warm! Oh, and…

Response from John:
For the benefit of future tenants, as I point out in the Welcome Letter there is a separate water heater dedicated solely to the small bathroom. The kitchen & laundry share the main heater with the larger bathroom. Normally there's plenty of hot water but not if everyone wants to use the claw foot tub or if dishes & laundry are going at the same time.

The kitchen is beautiful as advertised. John is extremely responsive as a host. We did have an issue with mosquitos. It was really strange as all the windows have bug screens. Also, there is a full time tenant that lives is a separate unit on the property.

Response from John:
Yes, there IS a small in-law unit over the kitchen, exactly as stated in the property description - and repeated in the Welcome Letter which all my tenants receive before check-in. In seven years of renting the house, the occupant has consistently proven to be more of an asset than a liability. I also remind prospective tenants that this is Maine, and the mosquito is our unofficial state bird! Not much can be done about that, but I do want to say I'm proud of my cleaning staff. They do great work. The presence of mosquitoes has nothing to do with Parker House's cleanliness.
