Samuel is a great host. Communication was really good, since all the replies were super fast from his side. The flat is really good for a couple.

It is a very small place, however for me and my girlfriend that were only visiting for one day to take in some sights around Brussels it was perfect! Very close to public transport but also close enough to walk to things. Apartment was very clean and he left us some wine and beer…

This was a very cheap place and Samuel was very quick to respond which was great however the place could use a thorough cleaning especially in the bathroom. I have stayed in 30 airbnb rentals and this was the dirtiest one upon arrival. It was only $50 per night so I decide it wa…

Response from Samuel:
Dear Lauren, I am really sorry that you had such a bad experience and that you complained about it only afterwards. While some of the issues you raise could have been sorted out easily during your stay other allegations contained in your comments are simply unfounded. I would therefore like to respond for the sake of fairness. 1) Two dustbins were on the terrace. While one of them may have already contained some waste it was certainly not full contrary to what you claim and there was still an empty one at your disposal. It seems quite reasonable considering the limited duration of your stay (two days from 19 to 21 April); 2) Regarding the size of the bed, your point was well noted and I amended the description of the flat accordingly; 3) You suggestion that previous photos misrepresented the flat is absolutely not acceptable. They were accurate as they were taken by the previous owner from which I bought this flat. But most importantly, since then, I significantly upgraded the decoration/furniture of the flat and the new photos on the ad are actually doing justice to this improvement; 4) Regarding the low ceiling and the size of the bathroom, I can only regret the inconvenience but, honestly, I never thought this could be such an issue and (being a Airbnb guest myself) I never came across any Airbnb ads reporting this aspect. I will do so in the description of the flat for future purposes; 5) Regarding your complaint about the check-in and check out, this was exceptional and I had to find a solution given that my friend, in charge of welcoming you, had indeed an emergency to attend to. Here again, good faith dictates to clarify that you had to pick up the keys and drop them 100 m from the flat. Not such a hassle contrary to what you suggest as I cannot be held responsible for the bad mood of Brussels taxi drivers. 6) Contrary to what you erroneously suggest, I did not mislead you regarding the location of the flat which is effectively walking distance from Flagey square and the European Parliament, but clearly further away from the Grand Place. I never claimed otherwise, as you will notice from the ad. 7) What you refer to as a "large balcony", in one of your rare positive notes, is actually a 16m2 terrace. 8) Last but not least, what you omitted to mention in your comment is that you left the flat in a terrible state of dirtiness. The kitchen alone, with the sink full of unwashed dishes and food, was a disgrace that I intend to report to the Airbnb platform with photos as evidence. So all together, I thank you for the constructive suggestions regarding the need to amend the description of my flat regarding the size of the bed and of the bathroom but the other comments are simply excessive or dishonest.
