Beautiful private mother-in-law studio with brand new furnishings and its own private entrance/exit attached to a large historic 1920's home with a modern appeal. Located right next to Texas State University and close to downtown shops and nightlife!

The Crockett is a modern styled private mother-in-law suite attached to a beautiful historic 1920's plantation style home in the historic district of San Marcos. The property is shaded by ancient native live oak trees. It is located right next to Texas State University and is a short distance to downtown shops, restaurants, and nightlife. It is fully furnished with brand new furniture and the kitchenette is equipped for any cooking you may wan to do during your stay. (Coffee maker, Britta water pitcher, microwave, electric skillet, toaster oven, full-size fridge with freezer). There is a queen size bed as well as a queen sofa bed. Again, while it is attached to the main house where we reside, we have ensured that guests have total privacy including a private entrance/exit and separate keys/locks from the main house. Please be aware we do share some walls since the guest suite is attached to the main house so it is possible some noise may travel.

PARKING: Parking is street parking for up to 2 cars in front of the house. We provide resident permit parking hang tags to be placed in your car during your stay.

*There are several steps and an uneven natural stone path to the guest suite. This may not work for those with mobility problems.*

AMENITIES: Bedding, pillows, linens, towels, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, fan (for noise reduction & sound sleeping) iron & board are all on hand for your use. Free WiFi internet, Netflix & HuluPlus (no cable but do have local channels via antennae).

Please allow the Crockett to be your home away from home for your stay in San Marcos.

The historic neighborhood has many beautiful homes that make it great for morning/evening walks. Many of its residents have lived here for decades with a few university student renters as well. Don't be surprised if you see deer, raccoons, or other wildlife out and about. While it is in the heart of San Marcos, it feels very much like being out in the woods.

We are excited to finally host travelers in our new residence in San Marcos. We have been married for 3 years, and have a 2 year old son as well as a border collie (Marshall).
