Ever dreamed of finding private seaside solitude on the rocky Maine coast? Camelot sits upon an isolated thirty-foot cliff overlooking the Atlantic. At high tide, waves crash against the sandstone rocks. At low tide, a hundred feet of beach is revealed for shell collecting, clam digging and rock skipping. With no roads within a half mile, you might not see another soul during your stay. Enjoy peaceful off-grid cabin life. Campfire cookouts, stunning views, and cozy beds.

The space
Camelot is a 420 sq.ft. A-frame cabin built by my father in 1965, and completely renovated in 2018. It has a small upstairs loft with a twin bed, perfect for kids. On the main floor it has a queen bed, a sofa, another twin bed, and coffee table.
The oceanside deck has 4 comfy camp chairs overlooking Canada across the bay. A hammock swings between two big Maine birch trees.
It is off-grid. No electricity. No heating. No running water. No TV. No wifi. It is a comfortable, peaceful getaway, as it has an outhouse, a 5 gallon solar shower, a huge marine 120 quart cooler that will keep food cold for up to 6 days, a 5 gallon drinking water cooler, a big propane cooking grill, a small propane campstove for morning coffee and eggs, and battery LED lanterns for evenings. It is stocked with everything you need - plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, silverware, coffee French press, sheets, pillows, blankets, Scrabble, playing cards, a big Bluetooth speaker (crank it up- there's no one around to complain!)
Dogs and cats are welcome!

Guest access
Guests can easily access the Atlantic Ocean via a short walking path, and a set of private stairs built into the cliff.
You can walk up the sandy shore for several miles at low tide.
You can also wander through the woods, we own the five acres surrounding the cabin.
Calais is a 20 minute drive north with all major stores and a Walmart.
Eastport is a 20 minute drive south with restaurants and all the beauty and charm of a Maine seaside village.

Other things to note
Just to repeat: It is off-grid. No electricity. No heat. No running water. No TV. No wifi.

*****COVID-19 IMPORTANT INFO***** Through August 31, 2020, The State of Maine is requiring a 14 day stay-in-your-lodging quarantine for OUT-OF-STATE visitors to Maine. If you are not a Maine resident, this will likely cancel your Maine vacation plans for 2020. However, Camelot would be a lovely place to quarantine if you can handle 14 days off-grid!

I grew up in Maine, and spent much of my childhood summers at Camelot. I live in Hawaii now, but I am just a phone call or email away for any questions. I still come back to Camelot every summer now to recharge and reconnect. It's my goal for you to enjoy the beauty and solitude of our family cabin!
