Boutique vineyard in the heart of Central Otago, in splendid isolation surrounded by mountain vistas. A luxuriously designed large studio in a rustic stone barn, by a tennis court and ponds. Retreat to our luxury barn studio where you can overlook the pond and river with your morning coffee. Later sit in front of the fire, enjoying views of the vineyard and mountains, treating yourself to our wine, served in the best restaurants around the world. An authentic vineyard experience.

Mount Pisa, Otago, New Zealand

Kopuwai Delta Vineyard is a place to disconnect, reflect and feel at one with nature.

We are situated on a terrace overlooking the Clutha river, Mata-au, just at the delta where it runs into Lake Dunstan in the Cromwell basin of Central Otago. The magnificence and force of this river is mesmerising and hence the vineyard is named after its taniwha - water spirit - Kopuwai. On the 24 hectares we have 11.2 hectares of vines, two olive groves for organic olive oil, fruit and nut trees, interspersed with sculptures.

Many will come to Central Otago for its wine, most notably the world-renown Pinot Noir that this region is most famous for. Wine tasting, and perhaps a meal at a vineyard is something not to be missed when you are staying at Kopuwai. We would be delighted to give you some recommendations on where to taste and eat.

If adventure or more active pursuits are your taste, the region boasts many walking trails, cycling, mountaineering, skiing, boating and a host of other adventures. You are a only a 15 to 30 minute drive to Cromwell, Clyde and Wanaka or an hour to Queenstown – offering great cafes and restaurants. Check out Central Otago's website for more inspiration.
