A spacious farmhouse in the heart of the Yarra Valley. This beautiful three bedroom property has a wood fire, spa-bath and views over the mountains. Set on thirteen acres of garden, orchards and farmland but only a 5 minute drive to Healesville

The space

Lavender Farm is a beautifully appointed house that can accommodate 2 to 6 people. The veranda that runs around the house allows you to follow the sun or the shade and enjoy the views of the mountains or valley. The house is fully self-contained with a well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms ( one with spa-bath), washing machine and dryer and TV and DVD. The property is not a commercial lavender farm but has many species of lavender growing in the garden as well as a lemon orchard and vegetable garden. Well socialised dogs are also welcome (and generally don't want to go home! ). The living area and all bedrooms have reverse cycle air conditioners and there is a wood fire in the lounge room.

Guest access

There is a BBQ on the veranda of the house and plenty of outdoor picnicking spots. There is free wifi and a selection of books and DVD's. The kitchen is stocked with breakfast provisions featuring local produce to start your stay. You are welcome to use herbs, vegetables and fruit from the garden when in season. Our family swimming pool is also usually available for use by arrangement. The property attracts a fantastic variety of birds and you can watch the parrots on the bird-feeder outside the kitchen window. (or in the fruit trees helping themselves to our fruit!)

Interaction with guests

We have a separate house on the property and are available to assist with advice on the attractions in the Yarra Valley or help with any aspects of the accommodation. Our golden retriever and spaniel are always thrilled to see guests so you can expect a warm welcoming party.
If you are looking to stay with a larger group ask us about our self-contained studio on the property that can sleep two additional guests (Yarra Valley Pool House studio)

Other things to note

Out tariffs are based on two people: additional guests are $25 per night per person. On weekends we have a two night minimum stay. We have a porta cot and high chair available for no extra charge and the house is wheelchair friendly.

The stay was nothing but amazing. The breakfast provisions were awesome. Bedrooms were extremely comfortable, we all had a well rested night. Not forgetting the lovely dogs who kept the children entertained. Bad idea that we only stayed for one night.

Everything is lovely at Lavender Farm. The house is clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you might need to fix a quick breakfast or supper. The host has stocked up the fridge with ample supply of milk, juice, eggs and condiments. The homemade wholemeal bread was yummy and the cake was really a nice touch. There is also a barbecue set provided. There are also washer and dryer for those staying longer but reluctant to carry dirty laundry home. The property is on a farm (as the name suggests). The surrounding is quiet and the view is mainly the endless lush greenery. You may want to have a quiet drink in the dining area overlooking the green field, or on the verandah with equally good view. If you are looking for company, the host's 2 very friendly dogs will be happy to offer their service. The host provided us with information on local chef who would be happy to take your orders and deliver to the place. The nearest eateries and supermarket are in Healesville, which is about 5 minutes drive. As we are a family with children aged 2-11, we are happy to find that the place is near to some tourist attractions that are good for kids. The Healesville Sanctuary is about 4km away (must visit!). Others are the Yarra Valley railway and a u-pick fruit orchard. Highly recommended!

Jacky was an amazing host, friendly, forthcoming with good tips and very welcoming. Her home was everything we needed. Living literally next to nature, with lovely birds, horses, dogs (Rory was so tame), chickens, lemon trees and flowers; the house was not short of creature comforts like heating, electric blankets, wifi and a whole range of cutlery and utensils. Everything was spotless and very nicely laid out. Only regret was that we could only stay one night.

This is an AWESOME place especially for families. You can enjoy cosy family time and kids will have fun in the beautiful nature. Tony makes sure we have everything we need to make ourselves at home. Even passed us rice when we forgot to bring. A wonderful place to come back to!

Very friendly host! Very neat and tidy place. Quiet surroundings and not too hard to get to. Ideal place to stay if you intend to explore the wineries and farms at Yarra Valley. Loved his 2 very friendly dogs as well.

Before we embarked on our Great Ocean Road adventure, we decided to swing by Yarra Valley and booked a night with Jacky's Lavender Farm. What a huge mistake that was! We should have stayed longer! We absolutely love the place! Jack pre-warmed the house and welcomed us at the door. She even baked a cake for us. The whole house is rustic on the outside and spotless inside. The kitchen is well-equipped for us to cook up a storm. Heated toilet, spa bathtub, clean sheets, and a wood-burning fireplace. Added bonus 2 lovely dogs, whole bunch of gorgeous birds, and free flow of fresh spices... Highly recommended.

Amazing, out of the world experience. Easily one of the best accommodations we ever had and we've been around. The cake (earl grey I believe) was so delicious I packed the leftovers... The dogs were charming and oh so friendly! We visited Chandon Winery which is just a few mins drive away.

My husband Tony and I run Lavender Farm. We have our own house on the property but guests can have complete privacy and only need to see us if they would like some help or suggestions of what to do in the beautiful Yarra Valley.
