Luxurious Yurt the heart of the South Downs National Park - enjoy peace, comfort and freedom amidst the breathtaking beauty of the "green and pleasant land" of unspoilt Sussex countryside.

The space

Hidden in a meadow known as Night Pastures, Beech Yurt is hand crafted using hardwood that once grew just ½ a mile away. Natural light from an oak stable door and three picture windows with blinds flood the space and, if you want to get even closer to nature, the stable doors can easily be opened to let fresh air and the sounds of the countryside stream in. A luxurious double bed, and two optional single beds complete with fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. On those rare occasions when the sun doesn't shine, the natural insulation of wood floor, wool rugs and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully comfortable.

Outside, the Yurt deck has a fully-equipped camp kitchen (gas stove [with grill], cups, plates, cutlery, utensils, pots, frying pans, cafetiere etc.), barbecue, washstand and fresh water tap, plus table and chairs - the perfect setting for glorious, memorable alfresco meals and moonlit dinners. Nearby, your safe and snug ‘en-suite’ bathroom hut, complete with flushing loo, Victorian sink, towels and a large walk in hot shower means you can still enjoy the comforts of home whilst out in the field!

** Please note that we now have 4 Yurt camps on our farm. If Beech Yurt is not available at the times you want, please also try one of our other camps by copying and pasting the links below into your browser address bar.

Interaction with guests

Once you have checked in, you will be left undisturbed to be at one with nature… that is of course unless you need help with anything in which case someone is always on hand!

Other things to note

Beech Yurt is located on a working family farm so please respect the Country Code at all times. There is also a large pond nearby the yurt that you would need to be aware of if travelling with small children.

There are many wonderful things the countryside has to offer and when you're tired at the end of a hard day's play we have plenty of board games, maps and books to while away the hours.

We can also provide, a Travel cot free of charge (one available please book in advance), an extra bundle of wood cut to size for your wood burning stove at £10.

If you fancy a break from cooking, a dinner "Room Service" is available on request by contacting the Rising Sun Milland at least 24 hours in advance.

If you're arriving by train, it's advisable to get your shopping done in advance, as nearest shop to the farm is 10 minutes drive.

Lovely secluded setting, I purchased one night in a silence auction for a good cause months ago we added another night and we were not disappointed. The weather during the day was perfect however it rained heavily both nights, but we were warm and snug with the wood burner in the Yurt. Very well equipped and comfortable. Recommended for an escape and a chance to recharge. The scenery is superb.

We absolutely loved our stay in Charlotte's yurts. We are a family with two young children (7 and 2). The yurt is beautiful and very well stocked. It had everything we'd need to make a meal. You can either use the gas stove or the BBQ (remember to bring your own coal). There is a firepit too, so you can really enjoy a late night looking at the stars. We loved the wood-burning stove and appreciated the fire guard that was provided. The children were thrilled (as were we) to sleep in the yurt in the comfortable beds. The best thing about the yurts is the fact you've got your own bathroom with hot water and a flushing loo! The location is very peaceful and rural, there's no wifi and not great phone signal which we actually enjoyed. It made for a very quiet and relaxing time. We loved our stay and would love to stay again. Thank you Rach for always making sure we had everything we needed.
