HorseWorks Wyoming's rustic cabins are located between Meeteetse (23 miles) & Thermopolis (36 miles) off Hwy 171 near the former town of Grass Creek. Cabins accommodate two to four people each with twin beds or bunk beds, heat & electricity in an idyllic, working ranch setting, a perfect stopover if passing through on your way to Yellowstone. Bathrooms located in the Lodge, with a traditional compost toilet in cabin area. Due to remoteness, plan to arrive before dark. See "COVID House Rules".

The space
HorseWorks is a remote, working horse and cattle ranch off a gravel road. The simple, cozy cabins have beds, an area rug, electricity and heat, no running water. Bathrooms/showers in the Lodge a short walk away.

Where you’ll be

Thermopolis, Wyoming, United States

The remoteness of the ranch makes it uniquely peaceful, with clear, star-fill night skies. Watch for cattle, calves, horses and wildlife on the roads as you drive into the ranch headquarters.

Having grown up in Kentucky, I traveled to Wyoming in 1994 for a summer job as a ranch cook and within two years, moved here permanently and pursued ranching and horse training with my late husband, Nate, who was posthumously inducted into the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2017. We developed the Guest Ranch Program where people from all over the world learn about the Western lifestyle and horsemanship.
