This is accommodation up on a mountain lake in the beautiful North Canterbury Mountains. This is a one of a kind experience with Mt Lyford Adventure Park on your door! Mountain pass included for exclusive hiking and biking. With your own beautifully insulated cabin, queen size bed, mini fire, couch and wood fired hot tub using fresh spring mountain water. This is a magical place set at 1260m above sea level great for an unique summer and winter experience. Mt Lyford is set inland from Kaikoura.

The space
This is a real mountain adventure. This hidden mountain paradise is set between two major tourist destinations Kaikoura and Hamner Springs. With exclusive access to three mountains this is an amazing outdoor experience. The accommodation is placed up a mountain road and over the saddle of Mt Lyford in the 1st basin which is the old ski basin. In summer you can swim in the lake, relax with the view, sit in your wood fired hot tub and look at the stars, hike to the top of two peaks or walk our trails and take in the beath taking views, bike on our mtb trails and down the mountain road. Skate on the lake and hike and ski your on personal ski basin at your door with tree skiing and amazing views. Sit in the snow in your hot tub. A great place to be snowed in!

Mt Lyford is NZ's only alpine log village. Above in the mountains is the Lake Stella Mountain Retreat where our accommodation is set. The mountain is privately owned and allows exclusive access while staying at Lake Stella. Mt Lyford has stunning scenery, beautiful native bush, an amazing mountain road and trails, mountain lakes, pristine mountain tundra and is suited to outdoor minded people looking for an alpine accommodation experience similar to glamping with a few luxuries.
