We are experienced hosts offering a nice sized bedroom, walking distance to colleges, downtown, great shops and dining, public transportation. Facilities are shared. Great for short or longer term.

There are four full time occupants, including two very busy students that rent space. Rich's son stays over occasionally. The house is large enough to insure privacy, and we get along very well.

We are efficient and respectful in use of the facilities so that our guests have convenient access.

The space
Good sized bedroom on our 2nd floor. Queen sized bed, ample closet, desk and chair. Nice light.

The full bathroom is across the hall; there is a half bathroom on the first floor. You get full use of the downstairs kitchen and living room, front porch and back yard. Parking for one car in the adjacent driveway.

What else do you get? Your co-hosts Rich and Tina. Rich is a CPA and mortgage advisor who is known around town as "Zen Mensch accountant". His partner Tina is a proud single mom of two young adult sons who loves to cook. Rich's son Malcolm is 17 and lives mostly with his Mom but here sometimes.. We have two lodgers and two cats, Sky Chief, an out-door cat who lives up to his name, and Puma, still adjusting to life in the city.

The house -- sometimes called "Mensch Manor" -- is on Hope Street midway between Brown-RISD and Hope Village. There are countless places to eat, shop, jog and stroll. There is a bus stop across the street, a synagogue within a 5-minute walk, churches and meditation centers nearby. You can easily walk to downtown as well. It's an attractive, vibrant area, and that's why we stay -- despite the high property taxes!

Guest access
You have access to the full kitchen for cooking, and the adjacent living room. There are laundry machines available in the basement if you are here for longer than three nights. We offer additional space in the refrigerator/freezer, pantry and bathroom that you may use. Of course you can lounge on the front, back porch or garden area at anytime.

There is driveway parking for one guest car. Street parking is restricted to permit-only although we may occasionally have a guest pass available for a night.

Other things to note
Bathroom and kitchen are shared spaces.

The bedroom is on the second floor; other people in the house have bedrooms there.

Parking space available in adjacent driveway.

Amazing bagels and spreads , gluten free bakery and artisan breads all walking distance!

We are open to extended status; message is.

Location

Providence, Rhode Island, United States

The East Side of Providence is a gem. Hope Street is home of the reknown Seven Stars Bakery, boutique shops, an assortment of fine restaurants and Saturdays' amazing Farmers' Market. Check out Garden Grille, RI's premier vegetarian restaurant just beyond Lippet Park. If you want to work out you may be able to get a guest pass at the YMCA two blocks from our home. If you have a membership in LA Fitness, Cross Fit or Gold's Gym there are locations nearby. Black stone Blvd, to the right of Lippet Park, is a popular jogging area.

Other personal favorites include Frog and Toad, a popular store on Hope Street with eclectic and homemade items like magnets and posters of Rhode Island towns that are more than a little tongue in cheek. Best bagels go to Bagel Gourmet on Brook Street, near Brown. For breakfast we love Nick's on Broadway, a short drive in the West Side neighborhood.

Have kids? Billy Taylor Park is three blocks back down Cyoress Street, at the corner of Camp Street. Lippet Park at the corner of Blackstone Blvd is also a popular scene.
