Welcome to a fairy tale cottage surrounded by an herb garden and a wildflower meadow! Small but spacious and well laid-out, this charming space is cozy downstairs and bright and open upstairs. You leave feeling restored. It is just minutes from numerous wineries, breweries, horse farms, hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail) and peaceful views. You won't want to leave!

The space
Our cottage is just under 500sf. It was built in 1932 and is made with the very stone which forms Afton Mountain. We completed a total gut and rebuild in 2018. Though it is heated and cooled with mini-split heat pump units, winters in the stone room with the fire blazing in the wood stove are a dream. The space is small but the ceilings are very tall so you never feel cramped.

The Appalachian trail is less than 5 minutes away by car. Crozet and Waynesboro are 10-15 minutes away and downtown Charlottesville can be reached in 25 minutes.
