The Sun Room is a private 360sq ft backyard art studio space near McNay Museum with easy access to Broadway. Close to SA Attractions without all the noise of downtown. There is a separate side entrance and plenty of street parking, and is suited to accommodate two people comfortably within a safe neighborhood for late checkin’s. Only a 12-minute drive from the airport! We are close to many schools and academy’s and welcome families for graduating students.
The space
~We have softened/filtered water from the tap provided.
~We can not allow animals or children in our space and are sorry for that inconvenience.
~A 12-14 minute drive to Fort Sam and the Downtown area including the Riverwalk and Alamo.
~A 16-20 minute drive to the AT&T center.
Guest access
We have plenty of street parking. The walkways is made of gravel and flag stones. There is lots of light so you can see.
NOTICE - We are accepting people into our guest house, but please note the following changes to our set up due to this virus.
1) We will not be providing any food, drinks, or shampoo/conditioner/bodywash to our guests.
2) We will not be changing out towels or linens until after you leave so we can thoroughly clean and wash everything together. If you are staying longer than five days we will provide you with extra towels.
3) Our art supplies will be limited to only what is left out for you on the art desk. Which is heartbreaking for us! But please, feel free to make some art while you stay with us.
4) We may need to change or add things to this list. Please be patient with us, this is all new, and we want everyone to be safe.
Other things to note
We have an antique iron, claw footed soaking tub in the bathroom that can be difficult for some to get in and out of. We have a handle to pull up and out of the tub. Please keep this in mind when booking with us. If you have questions about it, let us know!

Hello! I'm Natasha. I grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland and moved to SA in May of 2018 with my husband, Brian. We overworked ourselves in our twenties. Both owning different companies and working other jobs to financially save up as much as we could. We’re not in retirement in our thirties, but have been relearning how to take it easy and enjoy creative muses after a decade of go, go, go. Brian plays music and I love to paint and write. The arts is an amazing fuel to having a good life! You will discover I left art supplies on the table in there, and you are welcome to play a game or paint us a picture to put on the wall.
