Response from Matt:
I understand Michelle's frustration. I am so sorry for the mix up. Our team was very apologetic to Michelle in our communication breakdown, since we were having the room painted and did not get it blocked prior to her booking. We refunded her money and even offer for her to stay free in another room at this house or at another family members airbnb's in the area. "The lady there " rents a room from us and helps maintain the home. If the shared bathroom counter was dirty is was due to another guest staying in the room next door. Normally the bathroom would be cleaned with anticipation of another guest. This is not the Ritz, but it is cleaned regularly. It is a nice stop over place near I-40, much cheaper than a hotel. We do get plenty of interns that stay the entire spring and summer because it is so close to Sandia Labs, UNM and UNM hospital. Some times we mess up and we admit that. I see no reason to leave a 1, when Michelle did not stay and we bent over backward to try and accommodate her including refunding her money. She found another place nearby (on airbnb) and decided to stay there.
