Very close to Amsterdam one can find our little paradise studio apartment connected to our houseboat. A unique location at the channel, just outside the village Broek in Waterland and right between the meadows. From your apartment you have a nice view on the national park with its green grass and its fauna, like e.g. meadow birds, sheep, horses, hares, geese and swans. The studio is very quiet and offers lots of privacy and luxury.

The space
We designed and built the apartment and ist interior decoration ourselves and we recycled most of the building materials and furniture. Our starting point was to have it clean, cosy and comfortable. The rooms are well heated and the shower is hot.

Location

Broek in Waterland, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Never a dull moment. In summer you can directly start from our place to go canoeing, swimming, fishing, biking, scating, walking jogging etcetera. In the close proximity you also can hire sailing boats and electric sloops. In winter we sometimes can go ice scating on the channels and lakes. Besides the city of Amsterdam there are lots of very interesting visit attractions nearby. Such as the historical villages and cities around the former Zuiderzee. Like e.g. the former island Marken with its historical ferry to Volendam. Also the more than 700 years old harbour cities like Monnickendam, Edam,Hoorn, Enkhuizen (Zuiderzeemuseum), Muiden (Muidercastle) und Alkmaar(cheese market). The “Zaanse Schans” is a particularly picturesque open air museum with different kind of windmills that are still running. Most of them can also be visited at the inside. At “Teetuin Overleek” you can hire electric open boats. Of course the most beautiful village is Broek in Waterland. 1500 m (by foot, bike, car) from our place. Broek has a nice pub with decent dishes and reasonable prices called "Café De Drie Noten". There is a restaurant "Het Broekerhuis", a pancace restaurant. "De Witte Zwaan", a baker shop, a vegetable shop and a little supermarket with a post agency. Dont forget to pay a visit to our 17th century church. At daytime it is mostly open for visitors. In the summer season there is a terrace next tot he church where they serve fresh tea or coffee with different cakes.

It is better to travel than to arrive. However a safe, peaceful and friendly accommodation is part of that journey. We like to have guests in our house and share our little paradise with travelers from all over the planet for the last 30 years. We like gardening, animals, plants and making music. We appreciate A few real good friends more than 1 million likes on whatever platform. Although we are happy with all your suggestions for improvement.

We love to cruise with our antique Frisian lounge boat. Half day trips to the Waterland lakes and channels and Monnickendam but also day tours to Amsterdam or the former fishermens island Marken are our favourites.
We have two cats Stiffler and Borat and a dog Maybe. Your pets are welcome in our apartment.
