Our totally private cabin on 10 acres with 2500 ft of waterfront is an oasis of nature. Off-grid, water access only, this retreat appeals to those who seek serenity and connection with the land and the sea, not so much "creature comforts".

The space

Our log style cabin on very secluded waterfront generates an off grid experience. If the idea of spring fed water, inverters, battery banks, generators, propane fridge and an outhouse doesn't put you off, chances are you will love our retreat. You don't go there to watch tv, or shop neighbourhood stores, as neither are there. Instead you enjoy seaside and forest outdoors, water sports, fishing etc. or even sitting in the sun, on the beach, or the floating dock.

Guest access

The entire 1200 sqft cabin is yours, as wel as the beach, dock and forest around it. It sleeps 5 people in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom: fully equipped kitchen, BBQ on the deck. We can accommodate up-to 10 people, by expanding into our "Boathouse": extra charges over 5 people.
You can either organize a water taxi at the Government Wharf of the nearest port in Saltery Bay, BC or bring your own boat, or floatplane for that matter.

Interaction with guests

We rendez-vous to handover a key, or I take you up, set you up and leave you in peace.

It is exactly as it says in the description. Off the grid, secluded and as you can see from the photos, a stunning location. Nick is a great host, makes everything simple and easy for you. Sunsets were incredible every night. The bed was really comfortable. It is just so tranquil (a distant rooster and seals slapping the water in the bay were the loudest sounds) Also good cell reception if you need it. We had the time of our lives!

Nick's place on Nelson Island is truly a wonderful get away for those of us who need to unwind in a natural environment. Nick calls his place rustic but while the 'cabin' is in a remote place it has things like running cold and hot water, shower, and a full kitchen with propane oven and fridge that some would consider a luxury not usually associated with a rustic setting :-) The porch overlooking Blind Bay allows spectacular views of the sunset. We had a lovely time at the 'cabin' and Nick made sure we were able to make the most of our stay. The only thing I would do differently is to bring a boat to better explore the surroundings. Thanks so much, Nick
