Sweet Donside little bespoke shabby chic cabins are a magical escape where you can wake up and say hello to our hens & ducks roaming about out side. The cabin has a walk in shower room and kitchen area with microwave, fridge, Ninja oven, kettle. There is a decking area out side with the love tub waiting for you to enjoy a romantic dip the tub is exclusive to the cabin and fenced off.

The space
The Wee Love Nest is the first of our 4 cabins. This cabin is truly special and a lot of love has went in to building it there is a full size bathroom with walk in shower and central heating and WiFi with a king size bed along with a kettle, mini fridge, microwave & toaster, Ninja oven and a smart Tv with Netflix. lots of books and games and a blue tooth speaker there is parking in our car park not to far from the cabins. We have a fully functional kitchen area out with the cabin only a few yards away you can use to cook and eat your meals in along with a decking area with table and chairs you can sit out side in the summer time this area is shared with The Wee Beehive Cabin. Due to COVID 19 we have put in place time slots to use this area just now so guest can keep a safe distance . We supply one large box of wood fire lighters and kindling this should last for more than 2 days.
We deep steam clean the cabin with cleaning products recommend by the The World Health Organisation & The Self Catering association.

We provide the wood, fire lighters & kindling for the hot tub fire this should last 2-3 days if you run out you can purchase more from our honesty shop for longer stays we will top up your wood. We ask you do not use the hot tub wood we supply for the fire pit to please purchase this and charcoal from our honesty shop or your more than welcome to bring your own.

Please note before you book we are in a remote part of the Cairngorms so if you want a take away or to eat out it’s a 15 to 30 min drive. The kildrummy inn is a 15min drive they may do take away but you need to call ahead depending on how busy they are and if they are open. There are lots of take away and restaurants in Aboyne, Alford, Ballater, all with in a 30 min drive. Our local pub is only open fri to sun and has a very small menu. A taxi to and from Ballater is round about £60 you will not get a taxi to take you to the kildrummy inn as we have no local taxi service.

We are set in the Cairngorms National Park next to the village Bellabeg, which holds the famous Lonach Highland gathering and games that attracts over 7000 people a year, and a stone throw away from the river Don. We are across the road from the famous three hundred year old Jacobite Poldullie bridge built in 1715 the new Mary Queen of Scots has just filmed on the bridge, we had 172 extras and the props crew at our property. Just 8 miles up the road is the Lecht Ski resort with stunning views. The Wee Love Nest is the ideal location for a romantic getaway, switching off from the day to day stresses, sightseeing, walking , skiing, exploring and birdwatching or just to chill out and relax. Side door to enter . Please note check in is from 4pm and check out is no later than 10am this is to accommodate a deep clean for every stay.

What can I say, we are in the Cairngorms, surrounded by beauty and knee deep in history. whisky trails galore, Pictish stones, wildlife and outdoor sports.

Strathdon is a friendly area with lots to see and explore.

We have a cracking local shop and Post Office that is very well stocked, opening hours are 8am - 4pm Monday to Saturday and 9am -2pm Sunday.

The Steading Bar with small food menu is only 1.4 mile away, opening days may change during winter months so please check on their FB page.

Goodbrand & Ross tea room is a 10min drive away and is doing a take away service just now again please check their FB as this could change.

Kildrummy Inn is a 15min drive and is award winning with a set menu and a must visit, you need to phone to book in advance no walk in. Again please see their FB page.

You will surely see us kicking about outside, more than happy to have a chat or leave be, due to covid we no longer meet and greet and we ask you message us instead of coming to the house. :)
