One out of our five delicately renovated apartments located on the second floor of a charming, characterful farmhouse. It is one of the oldest buildings of a cosy little village in the Valle d’Isarco in Northern Italy. We find ourselves right in the center of sun-blessed South Tyrol, on a hilltop at the entrance of the Gardena and Funes valleys. Close to the dolomites mountains but not far away from the popular towns of Bolzano and Bressanone it is an ideal starting point to explore the region.

The space
The apartment is situated in a historic farmhouse under urban heritage protection. This truly unique building - characterised by its uneven walls and doors, its graceful vaults, arcs and passages - has been shaped and reshaped again throughout the centuries. The farmhouse was uninhabited for nearly thirty years before we started a very thorough renovation in 2018. We have done everything possible to preserve the invaluable historic substance. Set in a stark contrast with the historic building we have furnished the apartment with the modern, contemporary furniture of the interior design wizards from Lago.Design.

The apartment no.3 is composed of four rooms. Through the entrance door, you access a bright, uniquely angled room with a vault ceiling and a beautifully designed, shining white kitchen. To your left you enter into the heart of the apartment - the living room with its unique wood panellings called “Stube”. To let our apartment number 3 shine again we have dismantled all panels, we have washed and brushed the old wood, and have then built it in again. Walking down the steps to the right from the entrance you enter the bed room. Dark brown wooden beams and the big original window give this room a very special framing. Connected to the bed room is a bath room with Italian marble Pietra Piasentina, which literally means "a stone that pleases the eye”. We think its a name well deserved.

Guest access
After climbing an external stair case you will access the house through the main door and enter into the shared foyer on the first floor. Following the indoor staircase to the second floor, your apartment is on the left side, marked as apartment no. 3. Your apartment is separated with an apartment door. You will have all rooms of the apartment to yourself, no other guest has access to the apartment's rooms.

In addition to your apartment, you will also have access to a 500 square meter private garden with sitting areas, pergolas, trees and fountains. You will share the garden with the other guests of our house.

Other things to note
To access your apartment you will need to climb stairs. It is a historic building with no elevator.

Please do not place hot pans on the kitchen surface. The surface is not heat resistant.

Please do not remove shampoo, body wash, cream or detergent bottles, even if they are empty. All bottles are refillable and will thus need to be paid in case they are missing.

We are ideally located to explore the Dolomites mountains, for example in Val Gardena or Val di Funes. We are also not far away from the popular towns of Bolzano and Bressanone and other hot spots of the region.

The village is small but cosy; peaceful and quite, but at the same time not far from the highway juncture.

We are so lucky to have a range of great restaurants within walking distance. I will be happy to provide recommendations!
