One double bedroom in a two double bedroom flat in an award winning 1972 ex-council tower block with stunning panoramic views across the East End, City of London and the West End. The flat is ideal for musicians as it has a piano, guitar.

There is a large open plan living room/kitchen with 180 degree double glazed windows and balcony, bespoke kitchen with washing machine. There is a day bed in the living room - just larger than a single bed which can be used for additional guests. There is also a spare single mattress which can be set up in any room.
There is also a huge aquarium with a terrapin!
Most of the furniture and furnishings are high-end designer or handmade by local artisans or designers.

The bedroom has large windows looking onto the stunning city view with large wardrobes. One of the bedrooms also has a desk.
The rest of flat has beautiful laminated floors with custom made digital tiles in the custom-made bathroom.

The flat has been used for films and magazine photoshoots. A feature film called 'Panic' was shot almost entirely in the flat and can be rented on iTunes.

If the flat is booked on the dates you want, I have an almost identical flat in the same block - take a look at my other listings!

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire double bedroom with a shared bathroom, living room and kitchen.

Interaction with guests

It's possible to arrive at any time after 3pm (possibly earlier upon request and night is not a problem). I will either meet you when you arrive or leave keys either in the next door shop or in a key safe near the apartment.

Other things to note

Please note that the flat isn't suitable for parties or large gatherings and noise must be minimal in the evening and at night. I will need to fine anybody having a party in the flat £200 and also put in an official complaint to Airbnb and possibly to the police. I need to be this strict because my neighbours have only given me permission to do short terms lets on condition that I am very strict about parties.

Check out is 11am.
Luggage may be left until 1pm for an extra charge of £10 per case. If luggage is still there beyond 1pm we will need to charge for an extra night.

I stayed at 29 caliban tower for ten days with my two teenage sons. they liked the flat because it's fun for them. one enjoyed playing the piano and the other liked the terrapin. the sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. we cycled everyday using the barclays bikes, extremely convenient. only a few minutes of cycling to pitfield street for pitfield cafe or boundary street for the albion. we had to wear sweater, track pant and socks at the flat cause it's cold but the hot shower was not a problem. Claire was always fast in responding to my questions. overall we enjoyed our stay. thanks Claire. we made the mistake of taking taxi from heathrow at 6pm. it costed £90. just take the tube and bus, they are easy.

Basic bedding and towels. Fridge was warm no matter what we turned it to. Freezer needed defrosting and no breakfast bowls. Additionally should have been advised washing machine wasn't working (we were advised it was being fixed so hopefully good for future guests). On the positive side communication was excellent, location good and views exceeded our expectations. Building wad kept very clean.

I stayed at Claire's place with my family and we all enjoyed it very much. It felt like digging into a typical London neighbourhood just far enough from the tourist groups for an authentic experience and close enough to walk to the centre. My mother loved the turtle, my brother was delighted by the bars in the area and my father read all of Claire's instructions and recommendation in order to be well informed for the weekend. Would come back anytime!

Claire's place is so so cool! The only thing more cool in fact is the neighborhoods of Hoxton and Shoreditch. Being in London only for 3 nights, our group of 4 decided to more so immerse ourselves in the local neighborhoods than spread ourselves thin trying to see the entire city. And what a great decision it was! Shoreditch is definitely the hip part of London and was a ton of fun at night, and Hoxton seems on its way to getting their as well. We particularly enjoyed breakfast at Dishoom, fish n chips at Poppies, food and beer at Dinerama, and Sunday roast at Howl at the Moon just down the road from the apartment (if you don't know what Sunday roast is, look it up and enjoy!). Even if you are not looking to explore the neighborhoods surrounding Claire's apartment, you could still book here with confidence knowing that getting downtown is as easy as a metro ride or an Uber! Only complaint, and a small one because it was record heat the weekend we visited, was the lack of air conditioning. We loved everything else about it!

The apartment is really artful. Not one furniture is the same. Yet, somehow everything fits. Also the living room had a high dinner table that served as big aquarium for a little cute turtle who looks at us all the time. At night the view toward Liverpool Street Station is stunning. The travel to different parts of London actually is easy and fast. If you want to have some inspiration for the interior of your own home, then this apartment is the way to go!

Claire's place was very convenient, quite walkable to most of east London. Her housekeeper was very responsive to any issues that we had. Would highly recommend a stay here!

I was born in London and have lived in this block in Shoreditch since 2003.
My flats are full of original pieces of art and furniture by various artists - some quite well known.
I exhibit frequently in both London and New York and I have art studios in Hoxton and Brooklyn.
I love London and I hope to show off the best of it!
I'm very happy to recommend local galleries, bars, cafes or clubs. It might also be possible to use my art studio, which is 3 minute walk from the flat.

I'm also a distance runner, so let me know if you want any advice on running routes. It's possible to run for 20 or 30 miles through parks, along canals, marshes and woodland - only being on a road for a couple of minutes from the flat!
