Come and experience what life was like in a small village in the old days! You'll stay in a 19th century farmhouse in the beautiful and very tranquil village of Ardre, 40 km from Visby and 6 km from beautiful beaches. You'll dispose of
- a big loft with a sofa bed, 3 single beds, a kitchenette and a table for 6
- an outside shower room (hot water)
- an old-time toilet (no water).
Some weeks you'll also dispose of a bedroom on the ground floor with 2 single beds and a piano.
Halsegårda is a big traditional limestone farmhouse. The surroundings are beautiful and very tranquil, with no passing traffic. The 13th century village church is situated just a few hundred meters down the road, boarded by meadows. The village of Ardre, is situated just 6 km from Ljugarn which has a beautiful beach, restaurants and shops.
You access the loft through an outside staircase which ends with a balcony with morning sun, perfect for a lazy breakfast.
You also have a big part of the garden to yourself, with garden furniture, a swing set and a small barbecue.
When we're there, we're staying in the main building.
You can see the old farmhouse implements, such as the stead where the blacksmith worked, the big oven where bread was baked.
And you will be using the old style outside toilet without water. Don't worry though, you have a modern shower with hot water just outside your door.
Interaction with guests
When I'm there I'll be happy to give you advice about where to go and what to visit! If I'm not there myself I can give you ideas by email.
