Fantastic house with loads of space, exactly as described. In a traditional French village, a couple of minutes from the handy Spar store and butchers and bakery. We also had a great meal in Le Chat qui Peche 5 mins walk away on the Canal de Midi. Perfectly positioned for trips to the beach (40 mins), Narbonne - amazing market on a Thurs and a beautiful town, Carcassonne (50 mins). Loads of other interesting villages and places to visit within 20 min drive. The house itself has a large and brilliantly equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms. U.K. Channels on the TV and wifi. The air conditioning throughout the whole house was wonderful! There are bikes in the garage, and a perfect size pool for cooling off - it's very hot in August! A lovely eating area under the balcony with a pretty garden. We can recommend Chez Jean Marc for a delicious meal in the neighbouring village of Bize-Minerve and also canoeing in Roquebrun which also has a section of the Orb to swim in. There are loads of local guide books and tourist leaflets in the house which we found very useful. Danielle is on hand next door for any questions or emergencies!

We loved our stay and wish we could be back there now and hope we can go back again soon. Dannielle's home was perfect for us as for the first week of holiday we were looking for an escape, quite time in real, non-tourist France, away from the crowds, somewhere we could walk to the boulangerie and the shop and the restaurant, and experience the peace of a small village at the height of the summer. There was, though, plenty to do when we wanted a break from the pool and the books and the rosé: visit lovely nearby towns during their festivals and markets, cycle along the Canal du Midi, and even go for a swim in the Mediterranean near Narbonne.

Dannielle was an extremely friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable host. She gave lots of information before we arrived and whilst at Argeliers, she was welcoming and always on hand to help when we needed help and advicel for medical care for babies and young children and in helping to organise a local vineyard visit. Dannielle and her family were relaxed and friendly and we were never made to feel that we were troubling them unnecessarily Everything was as described when we arrived, and the acommodation and facilities both inside and out were absolutely fine, with clean welcoming beds and linens and lots of clean soft towels. The garden and patio area was safe and attractive with colourful plants and shrubs and just the perfect size. The pool was a hit with all members of the family, and did require some attention during our holiday, due to the very hot weather I presume. There is a safe and unobtrusive metal fence and gate safeguarding small children from accessing the pool area unaccompanied and this gave us all peace of mind. Argeliers was a good base for beaches, towns and countryside with lots of local walks or cycle rides along the Canal du Midi. Dannielle has a great selection of books and information on the life, history and geography of the area and games and activities while at home. Dannielle was the perfect hostess - nothing was too much trouble and Dannielle took a real interest in our plans and ambitions for our stay at Argeliers, and how we could all get the best out of it.
