The Carlendar family is great and very welcoming. We arrived in the late afternoon and were welcome with a nice cuppa in their mature and beautiful garden. Isabel showed us the way to the harbour and we had a good walk and made extra mile to the train track which boast beautiful flowers along the way. The house itself is old as expected so it gave the old world charm feeling. Before dinner, Carl played the guitar and he is such talented young man, a truly musician family. We had a wonderful meal with the family and it was truly a great networking time. We exchange information about each other's country and learnt more through this networking possibility. We took quite a few pictures of the charming place and also suggested to Isabel to share more pictures of the lovely home.

Isabel and Jens's place is a great, quirky old house with a fabulous yard. We had the entire house to ourselves as the hosts were away travelling. It was great that they managed to accommodate us on such short notice. Isabel and Jens were very friendly and encouraged us to enjoy their yard with all its treats, such as strawberries. Their house even has a sauna - a feature we Finns appreciate - and we got to use it, too. A child-friendly beach is within walking distance from the house and the route there takes you past the most idyllic Danish houses you'll ever see. Well worth going, that is.

We were very well received by Isabel. They were very flexible about arriving and departing. The room we had for me and the two kids was not too big, but perfect for our purposes. Isabel, Jens and her sons did everything to make us feel relaxed and they served a really nice breakfast. Me and my sons also enjoyed the garden, really a nice place. We also had to pleasure to enjoy some beautiful music composed by Isabel's husband. And on top of it all, Humblebaeck is very well situated. A 20 ride with the train to Copenhagen, the train rides every 20 minutes (until late in the night, or alle night-i don't remember that. Also Louisiana is close by (you should visit it, we loved it) or I you have time left also Elsingor is worth the visit (a great advice they gave us)

We had a great stay at Isabel's house. It's very cosy and the garden is absolutely fabulous. Walking distance to Luisiana , good restaurants and the beach is also a great plus.

Isabel and Jens were really great hosts: very welcoming, we had some really nice conversations on a variety of topics, and they provided us with numerous tips about the various beaches nearby, cultural things to do (also for Copenhagen if you want that) and places to eat. If you don't want to engage with your hosts of course that is possible too. The house was great, it gave us a little bit of a Pippi Langkous feeling (you know, the girl from the Astrid Lindgren story). Nice veranda, really nice garden and the house itself is old but very cosy which makes it a pleasant place to stay (there is also a sun room if it is too cold to sit outside). They said they have been renovating it bit by bit since they bought it and indeed it is not finished or perfect yet, but to us that was exactly the charm of it. The shower is shared with them, and it is not directly near to the sleeping room, but we did not think that was a problem. There is a sauna in the bathroom, which we unfortunately did not have the time to use. The beaches are nearby, just a 10 minute walk. This area has a lot of authentic fishing villages which you can visit by car of by bike. We will definitely stay here again if we want to go to Louisiana (such a beautiful museum!) and/or Copenhagen.
