Fire Fly Estate Home is situated amidst 2 acres of gated coffee & pepper plantations in a little hamlet of a village called Hermadu in Kumtoor Panchayat, and hosts the wellknown Hermadu Shiva Temple.
A major tourist spot The "IRUPPU FALLS" located in Brahmagiri Ranges is situated 9 kms from the estate home. Also known as "Lakshmana Tirtha Falls" forms Lakshmana Tirtaha River a tributary to River Kaveri.
Nagarahole National Park is a distance of 25Km .

The space
Fire Fly Estate Home is a space to DETOX from Wifi & Television. Take time to connect with your family or friends, listen to the sounds of the forest, the chirping of birds & crickets. Occasionally you can hear in the dead of the night the wailing of a fox, and at times in the dusk Fire Flies visit you.

Firewood heated water in a handi for your bath with smoky smell of the sweet fresh well water is the most therapeutic way to destress. Solar water heating system,geyser and power back up is also available.
A spacious kitchen space overlooking the coffee plantations to brew coffee or a quick meal is all yours.
A comfortable living space and bedrooms with typical old time countryside wooden cots and cozy beds for a snuggling snooze is waiting for you.
The dining area is woody and has raw rustic benches and tables with a blend of modern and traditional tableware.
What is enchanting about the place is by evening you hear the chirping of birds and insects and dusk brings " Fire Flies" to the property which is indeed a delight to witness as it brings tranquil and peace to know the space still is a haven away from concrete jungle of the city.

IRUPPU FALLS is a must see landmark followed by NAGARAHOLE NATIONAL PARK.
For the religious ones there is the Krishna Temple in Srimangala & the well known Shiva Temple in Hermadu very close to the property.
Best time to visit the Iruppu falls is the monsoon. It is a treat to watch the stream of river flow through the woods as you trek 1000 meters up the forest hill to reach the falls. Legend has it that during the period of the famous Indian epic Ramayana, when Lord Rama & Lakshmana were in search of Sita, they passed along this range and there is a spot at the base of the hill that commemorates that event. Lord Rama was Thirsty & asked Lakshmana to fetch him drinking water. It is said that Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri Hills which gave rise to the river Lakshmana Tirtha.

That is why this little cozy space nestled amongst coffee plantations is what I would like my guests to experience. For me space is luxury and natural space is next to god, not even the most amazing concrete structure can replace that. Healthy & delicious food, fresh clean air & water, good relationships & travel is what i cant live without.
