Response from Elisabetta:
Mahdi, I think that your review must receive a public answer! When you write “there’s not much to do/visit near the house”, I suppose that your ideal holiday is not a village surrounded by nature but a busy town plenty of shops where do shopping! The village of Barni and my guest house are the ideal location for people that love to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature. The house is completely sourrounded by nature, between a forest and the countryside where horses, cows and goats are free in a bucolic atmosphere. At sunset, the deers come from the woods to eat in the lawns close to the house and the guests can see them while are relaxing in the garden.
In the evening, when it comes to darkness, my guests love to relax in the comfortable outdoor sofa, with a good glass of wine, light up the garden stove and entertain contemplating the stars, which in the absence of pollution, are so many together with the constellations.
The village of Barni is crossed by the river Lambro and there is nothing missing in the village, some shops, two wonderful restaurants, one friendly bar, a beautiful playground for children, a football field, a volleyball court and a cycle track. A beautiful walk goes through the whole countryside and leads to the entrance of the village, near a nice farmhouse where you can taste great goat cheese and ice cream at km zero.
Not to mention the beautiful walks that, starting directly from home and crossing forests and meadows, lead to the summit of the surrounding mountains from where you can enjoy breathtaking views over Lake Como. For all these reasons, I’m sure that next time it is better for you and your friends to book a different location maybe in the town, if you want to visit museums and do shopping! Furthermore, Bellagio is very close. About 15 minutes by car from the house. As you reached the house with public transport, without cars, probably you spent more time with the bus to get there but, generally speaking, 99% of my guests arrives with the car and in a few minutes can reach a lot of wonderful locations as the village of Barni is not only close to Bellagio but is in a strategic position to reach faster both the branch of Lecco of the Lake and the branch of Como. Last thing. It is true that my husband don’t speak English but this doesn’t matter as you and your wife speak and understand very well Italian as both of you leave in Milan since 5 years. So I don’t understand why you mentioned this topic also considering that I have been at your personal disposal during all your stay! As far as the unpleasant situation you mentioned is concerned, you are right. It has been a very unpleasant situation to discover that you introduced in the house, without asking the permission to the host, an electrical incandescent old stove very dangerous that caused during the night a total of 3 black outs to the whole house!!!! You booked our house with the instant booking and is clearly stated that the heating, when it is necessary, is an extra cost. To avoid to pay the extra cost for the heating, you decided not to turn it on and you decided, without informing us, to introduce in the house this very dangerous electronic appliance (we understood immediately that the reason why you didn’t turned on the heating but introduced in the house the stove….was that the electricity is included in the price! You did a very bad thing as you know perfectly that this kind of device consumes a lot of electricity). VERY UNPLEASANT SITUATION FOR THE HOST. At the end of your review you write “beware that the host charges you for the heating about 2 euros per hour of using the heating system”. I do not know why you're writing the fake. You know very well, as I had anticipated by mail, and as it is written on the site that heating is on consumption and is counted at Eur 1 per cubic meter.
