THE PROPERTY
We have a newly refurbished free-standing private villa with garden and a decent sized private swimming pool (8x4m) and a guest limit of 6. So our guests have plenty of privacy and no sharing with hordes of other guests. Located in a peaceful residential area away from the crowds, we are only 1km (10-15 minutes walk) from the best beach in Denia, Playa Marineta Cassiana, and 2km from town, so all the facilities of the town are close by. Importantly, the guest suite and spacious covered terrace are south facing so you can make the most of the sun's warmth or be comfortable in the shade at any time of year.
PRIVATE SUITE
The guest suite is entirely for your use and everything is brand new in 2019 and finished to a high standard. The accommodation consists of two king double/twin bed bedrooms (let us know your preference), each with French doors and blackout shutters opening onto the large covered balcony terrace.
The luxurious bathroom has a spacious walk-in rain shower and separate detachable lower shower head.
The kitchenette/lounge has a dining/work table, sofa and fully equipped kitchenette including hob, extractor fan, microwave/grill, fridge/freezer, toaster and sink. Coffee and tea facilities are provided.
You can relax in comfort at any time of the year due to the quality double glazing, insulation and mosquito screens on all doors and windows. The bedrooms and kitchenette/lounge all have individual air conditioning, ceiling fans and central heating, which is much more comfortable than relying on air conditioning units for heating. The bathroom also has a centrally heated towel radiator and extractor fan.
There also is a smart TV with built-in WiFi, USB and HDMI and Mirrorcast facility for casting to the TV from your devices (if compatible). Spanish channels are available on digital TV and we provide Netflix HD in your preferred language for a small charge.
The superb balcony terrace, directly accessible from the 2 bedrooms, is covered for shade during the hottest weather and has an open end with sun loungers for soaking up the rays. At the other end, there are easy chairs and a coffee table for relaxing and socialising as well as a large dining table with 4 chairs. Everything you need to maximise your time in the fresh air and for al fresco breakfasts, lunch and dining.
SWIMMING POOL, TERRACES AND GARDEN
Accessible during the day, guests may make use of our swimming pool, pool terrace and garden areas. There are sun loungers at poolside, a large parasol and an outside shower which we ask guests to use before using the pool. Guests may also make use of our table tennis table on request.
Guests can also take advantage of the tower roof terrace which has spectacular panorama views of the mountains, our surroundings and the castle. This terrace has relaxing loungers as well as a cafe table and chairs with parasol. It's perfect for sun-downers.
There is a BBQ for guest use on the garage roof terrace (use subject to local bush-fire restrictions).
GROUPS OF UP TO 6 PEOPLE:

IDEAL FOR CYCLISTS:
Due to the close proximity to the Marina Alta mountains and valleys, the area is visited every year by many of the professional cycling teams and an increasing number of amateur riders for training camps and cycling trips. We are cyclists ourselves and for this reason we have had numerous bookings from cyclists keen to stretch their legs on some of the best riding terrain in one of the most reliable areas for weather in Europe.
LOCAL CYCLING TERRAIN & CONDITIONS:
For cyclists, the Marina Alta mountains boast stunning terrain as well as superb tarmac and virtually car-free roads. Routes can be as challenging as you care to make them and the possibilities are almost endless. The defining factor is that on any given day you can find the terrain that you are looking for, which is the big draw for the pro cyclists here too. Of course, we have mentioned the mountains, but there is also plenty of great riding to be had on the flat and along the coast. So depending on how your legs are going, you have easier options on hand here if you want to dial it back, which is by no means always the case in other locations.
The mountains are at approx 10-15km from Denia giving you a warm up before you head uphill. Gradients are typically not too steep (3-8%) and individual climbs range from 5 minutes to an hour. The tops of the passes are typically at 550-850m altitude so there are no issues with thin air but are definitely more than enough for properly challenging days in the saddle, if that's what you are looking for. Of course, steeper gradients can also be found if you feel the need.
Road conditions really are perfect, fabulous smooth tarmac on many of the roads, and very few cars outside the main towns. Drivers are also generally, certainly by UK standards, very respectful and leave plenty of distance when overtaking.

We offer secure bike storage in our internal garage, so need to clutter your accommodation or worry about prohibitive house rules. As avid cyclists ourselves, we are here to help you make the most of your stay and riding and will gladly share our extensive local cycling knowledge including the best routes, top coffee stops etc. Whatever your need we can support you.
DENIA AS A DESTINATION:
However the area has much more than cycling to offer. Beautiful beaches, 325 sunny days a year, a bustling town, Spanish culture, fabulous food (UNESCO city of Gastronomy) and of course, the mountains. The Marina Alta has a different feel when compared to other areas as it is not arid and dusty but green and verdant the whole year round, due to the extensive orange groves and forests.
Denia itself is an authentic Spanish town that is active all year round, unlike the tourist/ex-pat towns further south, with a busy port and marina, historic old town, scores of great restaurants and plenty of atmosphere. It is famous for having the most fiesta days in Spain and most weekends there is something going on.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Hikers also have a huge variety of paths and routes with beautiful scenery and views. Similarly we understand this is one of the top climbing areas in Europe and there a number of gorgeous golf courses within a few km. Watersports available include paddle boarding (SUP), kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing, kitesurfing and jet-skiing.
BEACHES:
Or, if you prefer a more relaxed holiday, then the most beautiful beach in Denia is within easy walking distance from the house and, of course, lounging by the pool in the garden is even closer.
THINGS TO SEE AND DO:
For sightseeing there are waterfalls and natural pools, caves, castles, typical villages, markets, shopping, wine tasting. And for eating and drinking, endless possibilities.
