Everything was just perfect!! We were there 11 people for 8 nights. Kitchen, beds, bathrooms, heating system...all was perfect. We went on beautiful hikes, did fishing, enjoyed the most wonderful garden around the house, went to the Isle of Mull, walked to Glenfinnan, and just enjoyed (EMAIL HIDDEN)municating with Gordon was easy and swift. Thank you Gordon and family for a wonderful holiday!!

A perfect Highland location - following a second wedding celebration in the UK, our three day stay was to chill out with our family and Aussie/Canadian guests who wanted to experience Scotland. The varied weather didn't disappoint; although the midges in the garden were aggressive on some days. The Lodge has great character - bedrooms were comfortable, Kitchen and Living Room good 'hubs', with all the essential equipment. Not much to complain about. The only feedback comment is probably the bath plugs didn't work very well. Moray and Shirley Mackay

Glenhurich Lodge is beautiful! The house is amazing and perfect for a getaway with a large group. Be prepared for windy roads, but it's worth it for the views!

Glenhurich Lodge is an old school house - basically two houses really, that have been knocked into one. The kitchen forms the heart of the house, with hallways coming off it in two directions. One of these leads to the lounge (was this the old school room?) and stairs to two enormous bedrooms; the other leads to four further bedrooms, one of them on the ground floor. The soundproofing isn't great in here, so if you want an early night and are leaving the rest of your party sitting up drinking, chase them through to the living-room! Otherwise you'll be back down at two o'clock in the morning telling them all to shut up! The bedrooms were all really comfortable - probably the most comfortable we've slept in when we've gone self-catering. The single was tiny - just room enough for a bed and a bedside table, and space at the bottom for your bags. There's no storage in this room, so it's best reserved for a youngster or someone who doesn't mind sharing storage with one of the other bedrooms. Our 17-year-old loved it. The rest of the bedrooms were all very generously proportioned, in particular the two in the 'main' part of the house above the main entrance (which we never used). These rooms could easily sleep four: there are two pull-out mattresses in the twin, and a sofa bed in the double. Our daughter and her husband had this room, and their two-year-old had the sofa bed. There was still bags of room to swing a cat. Or a dog. Or even a camel, probably, though we didn't try any of the aforementioned. The living-room had space for everyone, though we did have to bring down a couple of chairs from the bedroom to ensure everyone had a comfortable seat. The wood burning stove was a doddle to use once it had heated up - on first use it smoked a bit. And there is heaps of firewood - something we really appreciated. We've stayed in places before that charge for wood, which always seems a bit mean given that the stove is there to warm the place up! No such meanness from Gordon - thank you for that! One thing you do need to know is that if you intend to pull up, abandon your car and hole up for the duration, you will need to bring EVERYTHING with you. Strontian isn't miles away, and there's a well-stocked shop there, but there's nothing within walking distance unless you're into fishing/hunter gathering. We only spent three days here, but it felt like longer. A late check-out enabled us to make the most of our time - again, we've stayed in places that want you out by 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday when no-one else is coming in, so this was REALLY appreciated. We like to give a place a good tidy up before we go, and we had plenty of time to do this without feeling pressured....

This fantastic lodge is ideal for group and family get aways. Extremely secluded yet very homely, Glenhurich provides a a unique experience to those looking to be away from everything and just relax. Fill your cars and with ample food, wine and beer and enjoy your stay!

From Scotland, live and work in Glasgow. Glenhurich is a much loved family holiday home. As a family we love the outdoors, being away from it all, but still having the comforts of a warm, well functioning house.
