This is our ground floor studio apartment; one of four apartments that make up Driftwood Gardens Guesthouse. This apartment offers a covered patio with a hammock and dinette table. Inside is a queen-size bed and kitchenette. Pool, sun deck, and BBQ area are just steps away. Ideal location; one minute walk to the lagoon, 3 minutes to the famous Sidewalk and Sea. Full-service tour operator with golf cart rental is next door. A coffee shop and grocery store are less than a two minute walk away.

This ground floor studio apartment is part of Driftwood Gardens
Guesthouse, a large 3 story property located at the top of Placencia Village.
The location offers convenience to all local amenities. The beach, Caribbean Sea, and famous sidewalk are just a 3 minute walk across the street; a grocery store and coffee shop are less than a two minute walk away. And the the two best beach bars, Barefoot Beach Bar and Tipsy Tuna are just a short 5 minute walk.

We are next door to a full service tour operator, Captain Jaks, who can organize any excursion that you’d like to experience. They also offer golf cart rentals if you want to explore further up the peninsula.

The apartment has a queen bed, a large wardrobe for clothes storage, and a kitchenette. Many small appliances are included for your convenience, including a toaster, blender, coffee maker (w/ complementary coffee), single burner, and a hot water kettle, along with a microwave and mini-fridge.

The apartment also has air conditioning and fast wifi. A 32 inch smart TV with complementary Netflix and over 100 cable channels is also available for your enjoyment.

You also have a covered patio with a hammock and dinette table. The pool, sun deck, and BBQ area are just steps from the apartment.

A fleet of complementary bikes are also available to help you get around the village if you don't feel like walking.

Placencia Village is very much a tourist beach destination, but also truly a working village. The village is totally walkable. The neighborhood is very friendly, and full of locals, tourists, and expats. It is expected that you say "good morning" and "good evening" when passing people. There are lots of children who you'll see walking to school or waiting for the bus every morning.

We moved to Belize in 2017 from New Jersey to enjoy year-round sun, sea, and warm weather. After years of research and reconnaissance, working multiple jobs and saving as much as possible, we finally dropped our old life, quit those jobs, and moved to Belize. We chose Placencia as our paradise, and bought this guesthouse within weeks of arriving. Since then we have enjoyed adapting to the “Barefoot Perfect” lifestyle of the village. We love living in this warm community full of friendly faces and being within walking distance of everywhere we need to go.

Phil’s passion is health and fitness and appreciates being active outdoors year-round. While enjoying all the perks that Belize offers, he has not totally abandoned his prior career path and still works remotely as a physical therapist.

Megan dabbles in real estate, indulges her creative side by writing a blog (Real Life Recess) and crafting, and is also a superb source of information on expat life, village happenings, and unique experiences.
