Experience staying in the South Island's first Hempcrete home with stunning views of Lake Wanaka and the mountains. Guest entrance leads to your kitchenette-relaxing area, two bedrooms with wardrobes, spacious bathroom, walk in shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.
***The second bedroom has a king bed or two singles.
If booking for 2 guests and you require both bedrooms, please contact Barb, as there is an extra $20 per night fee.
On site car park, unlimited fibre internet.

The space
You will have the studio to yourself. As I only take one booking, you will not be sharing.
While attached to the main home, The Studio is entirely separate, with it’s own private entrance.
The table with seating and bean bags on the generous deck area overlook beautiful Lake Wanaka and the stunning surrounding mountains.
Hempcrete and lime is breathable and quiet. The Studio generally stays at an even temperature -there is also an air conditioning unit in the studio.

Hemp studio is in The Heights and nicely positioned to experience 180 degree views of the surrounding mountains and all day sun. It is approximately a 20 minute walk along the lake track to the centre of Wanaka.

I have been delighted to host visitors to the Otago region over the last five years. Wanaka is a spectacular part of the world and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the area with guests. My latest BnB offering is the newly built Hemp Studio - the South Island's first home made with Hempcrete and lime plaster- a breathable home. I have been living in the house and appreciating the peaceful cosy feeling and beautiful acoustics since it was finished in December 2019.
When I have the time you will find me creating and sewing my ‘Hemp Studio’ linen aprons-
in my kitchen or out in the garden . I also love getting out and about in nature, walking or cycling on one of the many tracks around the lake.
