Perched on top of the hill, surrounded by vines this pretty Girondine is the ideal spot for food, family and friends! Welcome to La Courtiade, a perfect piece of France, we look forward to sharing it with you...

The space
We have recently renovated this charming traditional country house, ready for its first guests in Summer 2021. A bit more about the space itself...

The centrepiece of the house is a large open plan dining/living room with fireplace and windows/French doors opening out to garden, outdoor dining and pool area. This room also opens onto a true cooks kitchen which blends old world charm with new world convenience (side by side fridge/freezer, induction cooktop, electric oven and dishwasher). The kitchen is fully stocked with every kitchen utensil or appliance you can think of as well as good quality cookware, plates, glasses, cups, cutlery and serving ware.
Leading off the kitchen is a utility room with sink, washing machine and dryer and extra fridge freezer (perfect for drinks fridge, or to store all that beautiful French cheese!).
A door off the utility room opens to a modern bathroom with toilet, shower and basin.
At the other end of the living room, there is a doorway leading to two rooms which are ideal as a children's retreat or as downstairs bedroom suite for guests who have difficulty climbing the stairs. The first room is furnished with two antique king single beds set up in this room (as well as two single trundle beds available) making it a great option for a 'dormitory' style kids hangout. The adjoining room is a second lounge/study with TV, playstation and large sofa which can also sleep another guest if needed. This room opens onto the back garden and views of the vines.

There are three large, light filled bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs.
The first bedroom has a stylish and deliciously comfortable linen slip covered King bed, marble fireplace, pretty chandelier and picture perfect views of the garden and French countryside beyond.
The second bedroom features a romantic antique Queen bed, chandelier, marble fireplace and views.
The third, over-sized master bedroom has a Queen sized four poster bed, magnificent antique wardrobe and lovely dappled light from the European Lime tree outside the window.
All three bedrooms share a newly renovated bathroom featuring decorative cement tiles, large walk in shower and classic, contemporary toilet and basin fittings.

The sunny garden and entertaining area at the front of the house has beautiful views and provides easy access to the pool. An extendable outdoor table seats up to 10 people, and large sun umbrellas offer beautiful shade in the summer.
There is a large lawn at the rear of the property with the best views of all, looking down over the vines towards the river. Great spot for playing games, lying under the cherry tree reading a book or the perfect position for an evening drink or meal watching the sun go down over the vines.

This truly is a perfect spot. The area is surrounded by bustling local markets and antique fairs, grand chateaux, pretty bastide towns and captivating countryside.

The house is just a few minutes up the hill from the charming riverside village of Eynesse, there is a local store where you can buy basics as well as your daily fresh pastries and baguettes. The nearby Dordogne river is a wonderful spot for kayaking - kayaks are available to hire in the local village.

Just 10 minutes away is Sainte Foy la Grande, home to one of the biggest and best
Farmer's markets in France which has been operating since the 13th Century! Sainte Foy la Grande is a busy town with cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and all daily services you will need for your stay.
Bergerac is just 30 minutes from the house and offers a gateway to the beautiful Dordogne/Perigord region, including the stunning historic town of Sarlat (1.5 hour drive) making it an easy and enjoyable day trip.
The popular villages of Eymet, Duras, Monsegur, Issigeac and and Monpazier are also within easy reach (less than an hour by car).
