Paradise on a protected turtle nesting beach in the South China Sea...

The space

This cabin is located at the northern most end of Mentawak Beach in Juara Village. Mentawak is a protected turtle nesting beach, so development is limited and you'll find peace and privacy. Built to modern standards with a creative artist's touch inside, this cabin is more than just a place to sleep, it's a place to relax and unwind or a great basecamp for your island adventures.

Brand new full size refridgerator/freezer!!

Full ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, sink, western and traditional style toilet

Electric Tea Kettle with tea and coffee provided

Full use of cabin property with fire pit, yard, clothes line.

We leave you alone while you're here, unless you need something or some guidance. We own the big house on the rocks nearby, which is also a small cafe and sports center. We can arrange guided outings or give you local maps of trekking and kayaking routes.

The community of Juara is very friendly and welcoming. Children and adults will both smile and wave hello when they pass you on the road in the village, even if they don't know you. The local food is delicious and cheap, you can get mind blowing Fried Rice for only 6RM here! There is unlimited outdoor sports for you to try, like snorkeling in the bay right out front, kayaking the mangrove swamp, surfing in the monsoon, trekking to waterfalls, building sand castles, flying a kite, whatever you fancy!

First to get to Pulau Tioman you must get to the port towns of Tanjung Gemok or Mersing. From there you can take a Bluewater Ferry to the island (cost 35RM, 2 hours). Upon arrival at the 3rd ferry stop, Kg. Tekek, you must take a 4WD taxi to Kg Juara on the eastern side of the island.
**There is a new ferry service direct to Juara village from Tanjung Gemok jetty!! **

Perhaps the best beach to stay at if you like peace and quiet. Even caught a faint trail of the milky way when the sky was clear ! A comfortable cabin to chill :)

Lovely place and wonderful hosts. What more can I say? One of the best experiences I had with Airbnb so far. The beach and the location are just stunning and better than what pictures show.Truly warm and friendly hosts. From the first moment they make you feel at home. They made special arrangements for us to stock up the fridge and they patentially waited for us on arrival as our ferry got a long delay. We also had a local lunch with both Soyok and his lovely wife Jesse at one of the villager's place to celebrate Hari Raya so we got to experience Juara like locals do for a few minutes. Truly amazing. If you are the kind of person that loves true authentic experiences and do not care a lot about fancy facilities and luxury commodities, do not hesitate and give this place a go. Great thanks Soyok and Jesse, you guys are host rock stars!

Soyok and his family are really sweet. They give you all the privacy you need but are there to help out when you need. They even let you take their canoe out for free, just don't lose it guys. The surrounding houses some are other chalets but some people's home, very nice friendly place. The chalet was AMAZING!! the beds were clean! they provided towels!

We stayed there for a night, but it was amazing. Time felt like it stopped and it was quiet, really serene and so basic we had the best time. The cabin is really basic but has a lot of space even good enough for a group. No food access though but restaurants are walking distance. One thing you'd need to bring would be drinking water. Jesse and her husband were really nice hosts. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Located at a very private corner of the beach, this beachfront cabin makes for a beautiful abode in this part of the island. It is equipped with everything you need for a holiday stay and the best part, needless to mention are the hosts–Jesse and Soyok (also, their adorable little son, Miko and their dog, Eva). They are always up and ready to assist and guide you through, living just footsteps away. Since we are preferably vegetarians, Jesse was all handy with information on where to find the best food on the island; it is amazing how these hosts go the extra mile to ensure their guests are always taken care of. We were without our handphone chargers and Jesse was kind enough to lend one to us. Clean, quite, serene, tranquil, beautiful and very importantly, welcoming– this is all one needs to ensure a lovely stay by the beach and Ombak goes above expectations. The beach just outside the cabin is beautiful. You can go trekking up the hills to an amazing waterfall. Lots of good food options available. There is a mini market nearby in case you need anything. Thank you, Jesse and Soyok!

Jesse was really helpful and kind during all our stay there. She borrowed her scooter and gave us all the info we needed to go around. The bedroom is really nice and clean and the view and breeze makes it perfect for a great night! I really recommend staying there!

We had a amazing stay! The cabin was in very condition, everything was as promised and the beach is even better than described! The place is very secluded and beautiful. Due to the low season, the beach was practically empty (the whole beach for ourselves!) and a lot of the places were closed but that was not a problem as there still was cheap and nice food nearby. We did not talk much with Jesse and Soyok but they seemed very nice people and friendly hosts. In short, if you want privacy and a bigger place than the other options nearby, stay here! Highly recommend!!
