Our cabin is situated on 24 acres along the Maitland River. Fishing is popular as are cycling and hiking. The Maitland Trail is nearby and there is a short trail on the property itself. The cabin is a "getaway" kind of place, although within walking distance of the Benmiller Inn and Spa, and 10 km from Goderich which is known for its beautiful beaches. It is 20 km from the popular village of Bayfield. Please note there is no internet. The cabin is available only from May through October.

The space
While the cabin is more rustic than luxurious, it has air-conditioning and heating. The washroom has a shower, no tub. There is a small outdoor deck and a fire pit for campfires. Wood is not supplied. Please note there is no Internet access and no commercial television service. However there is a monitor, DVD player and an amplified speaker to connect to audio devices. Guests often tether their own devices to access the internet. We provide a gas BBQ and propane.

Dan and I are retired from the Canadian Foreign Service. We have returned to our "roots" in Benmiller, ON, where we thoroughly enjoy our rural lifestyle and the Maitland River. We live five minutes away and we (or a family member) will be available. Guests will have a great deal of privacy although we will be cutting grass and retrieving tools etc from the nearby shed.
