The perfect getaway - but not too far away. It sits on 7 private wooded acres with 2 streams on a quiet walkable street, 2 minutes from stores, and services yet it feels like the country. It’s minutes away from plenty of places to bike, hike and enjoy nature.

This meticulously built 1930’s stone cottage was just renovated, leaving it quaint on the outside, new on the inside.

Perfect for multiple work at home scenarios, with three workstations, scanner/printer and Gigabit Internet.

The space
The property features beautiful stone walls, a little stream, plus and a stretch of Bushfield Creek all the way at the rear of the property. There is also a stone slues, and the remains of a bridge from the days of bringing cattle to the creek to water them as they moved them down to the Hudson River for market. It's a beautiful, private playground.

The cottage is decorated to a present-day spin on the 1930's style keeping features like the original doors and stonework, the "faux tile" in the kitchen, and the old radiators while adding brighter elements with cleaner, simpler lines. It has work stations in three separate spaces, so multiple video conferences and calls are not a problem.

Superfast Verizon Gigabit Internet, color inkjet printer/scanner/copier to make your stay productive and convenient.

There are 2 large screen TV's (4K and 1080), a Bluetooth compatible stereo with subwoofer and Boston Acoustic speakers (In the kitchen too). Roku on both TV's plus extra HDMI inputs for your own devices. The setup makes for a great movie night.

There is a completely private fenced-in yard to enjoy a cook out or a glass of wine (seasonally). Or you can sit back and relax in the hammock by day or in front of the fire pit by night. Enjoy a morning sun salutation on the yoga-deck.

This cottage has a very well-equipped "Cooks Kitchen" designed to create and serve "home cooked" meals. We have a full selection of serveware, glassware and "goodies" like quality cutlery, a full set of tri-ply stainless cookware, enameled cast iron cookware, a super-automatic espresso machine, pizza stone, bamboo steamer, food dehydrator, instant hot and cold spring water, waffle maker, food processor and much more. It's called "Cook's Cottage" for a reason :-)

This year we've added a laundry room with a brand new, full-size, Maytag Washer and Dryer set, utility sink, plus a big clean countertop for folding, and a drying rack for delicates.

The cottage is in a little-known neighborhood, close to civilization, yet offers a sense of quiet. Many of the folks in the neighborhood go walking, riding or jogging here. There's an exactly 3 mile walk to the end of the our street, which comes to a dead end, so there are few to no cars (depending on when you go).

I am an author and educator. I travel for speaking engagements and consulting. I also host. I'm very neat, organized, quiet and punctual which makes me a good guest and host :^). When I travel, I prefer a quieter, more private space where I can feel at home, make a cup of tea... relax. As a host I tend to leave you your space unless you need something - then I'm there.
