The perfect place for anyone looking for a French experience in the countryside. Very peaceful and cozy little home. Bed was super comfy. Bathtub was lovely- even perfect size for someone who’s 5’11 :-) and accompanied by candles- perfect after a long day. They even had a fan which I enjoyed for the white noise at night. If you’re someone who wants a unique and authentic experience- this is the place for you!

The property is exceedingly charming, the setting is stunningly so. The cottage/suite we stayed in was a lovely 2 storey thing, very stoutly built. There was an adjacent garden which I'm sure would be a beautiful place to sit out for breakfast when weather allows. Though we didn't really get to spend any time with our hosts (we were too busy), they welcomed us and gave us some information on what can be done in the area, along with an offer to knock on their door if we needed help or information on anything.

Really beautiful country house. You can cook on site and do laundry if you want. There is a small accommodation store near the place but they have very limited choice. If you want to have more choices, you'll have to drive to Falaise or Argentan. Owner where kind to us and they were very discreet. We almost haven't seen them for the 10 days we were there. They were polite and offered us additional towels and toilet paper roll before we had to ask for more. They also lent us a can opener that we desperately needed. They also let us enjoyed the beautiful garden in front of the house at our convenience. Overall it was a great place to stay in the heart of Normandy. There might be only 1 small thing we would like people who are planing to stay there to know: if, like us, you can't live without reliable wifi and/or tv signal, you might want to think twice before renting at this location. NOTE THAT THE OWNER ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT AT FAULT FOR THIS. We forgot that technology is really bad when you go in the country side and it is something you must accept otherwise you are going to live a lot of frustration. Don't do the same mistake we did and focus more on the beautiful landscape and less on your computer or cell phone signal. Everything else was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to fellow travellers.

Lovely place and hosts. We enjoyed everything and certainly want to come back. We highly recommended Falaise street market on Saturday.

Donherra User Profile

A lover of sun, sand, and surf, Donherra has left coastal Sydney for the cooler climes of Normandy to fulfil a lifelong dream of living in Europe and learning French. A trade unionist, she enjoys conversations about politics, science, and general nerdy things, and is looking forward to having a year away from work to practise her karate and maybe even learn a bit of the French martial art savate. She is also very enthusiastic about animals and will happily play with your dog(s) or any other pet should you bring one (or several).
