Welcome to the second floor of my home nestled in the trees on a quiet street just a few blocks from the beach. The space is open, light, and airy filled with lots of art. Close to the beach, hiking trails and Cape Meares Lighthouse.

The space
The space has always had great energy even as a rustic cabin or a beautifully remodeled home. You have private access to the entire top floor and deck of the house; I live in a separate unit downstairs. Just a quick 5 min walk down the hill to the beach, local coffee shop and restaurant. For some, the walk back up the hill can be challenging.

Guest access
The living room has a pellet stove and if you're musically inclined, there is a baby grand piano, some percussion instruments and a guitar to enjoy. Great reading selection, games, puzzles and art supplies. Binoculars for bird and whale watchers. Netflix and Amazon Prime for watching movies. Fully stocked kitchen with organic cooking oils, most spices, coffee from a local roasting company, selection of teas, organic half 'n half, coconut and almond creamers. Popcorn to enjoy with movies. Instant oatmeal for a quick breakfast. Most condiments (mayo, mustard, ketchup) and other cooking ingredients. Entrance to the house is up a flight of stairs you can see in the picture.

Other things to note
If you like to hike, there are many wonderful trails close by. There are lots of interesting beaches to explore. Opportunities for surfing, hang gliding, crabbing, clamming, fishing. kayaking and much more. You'll find this information in guides and maps in the handbook.

Location

Oceanside, Oregon, United States

Oceanside is a small village nestled in the hillside on the beautiful Oregon coast just 10 miles from Tillamook. One of the special things about the area is the lack of commercial businesses. That's what the locals love about it. We do have a couple of treasures. Roseanna's is one of the best restaurants on the north Oregon coast. We also have a delightful coffee shop, The Blue Agate, which serves breakfast and lunch - the food is delicious. Espresso is available at the Three Arch Inn. Close by is the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory for delicious ice cream and tasty cheese samples, Cape Meares Lighthouse, and the Pelican Pub Tap Room. We are surrounded by lots of water including Netarts Bay, Tillamook Bay, 5 different rivers and the Pacific Ocean. The beach is wonderful for long walks, collecting agates and sand dollars or taking your dog for a run. There are many hiking trails close by. You can get fresh fish, oysters and crab nearby.

I'm originally from Nebraska but Oceanside has been my home for most of my adult life. I've always been passionate about working with kids. I recently retired from being a principal at a small elementary school. My son and daughter are grown but live close by. I like to read, work in my garden, dance and camp. I enjoy traveling and look forward to exploring Europe after I retire. I'm always up for trying a new restaurant and a good bottle of wine.
