Surrounded by picturesque farmland enjoy an authentic Philippine cultural experience with airconditioned luxury & comforts of home.
This is a strongly built steel reinforced brick and concrete home. Tile floors ceiling fans stroll to river.

The space

We provide a genuine Filipino lifestyle experience for our guests. Do everything from fishing at our riverside home, relax in a hammoc by the river or our vege patch, sing along with Karaoke by night, enjoy delicious authentic Filipino food that can only be best experienced in the home of a Filipino family.

Guest Access

Your private room is large and comfortable with a double bed, mosquito net, wall fan, with light, stereo with FM radio and iPod/phone doc player/charger, mini refrigerator. Enjoy the luxury of your own private bathroom complete with hot and cold water in the shower with toilet and wash basin. Fresh fruit basket, flowers by your bed, fluffy towels, and basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) is just the start of the comfort. It's fully secured by security grills on the windows and lock-up door to your room with key.

It will be hard to find so much comfort and luxury without the staid limitations of a hotel. For the person looking for more in their holiday experience, or need a secure and comfortable place for a business trip, this is the place for you.

Interaction with Guests

The room is in our family home. You can choose to lock yourself away in your room when you want privacy, or join in with the family activities when you want company.
If you would like to try your hand at farming you will be welcome to help tend our vegetable patch. If getting back to nature is your thrill, we are surrounded by some of the most exquisite mountains and bush walks you could ever hope to enjoy.

If beach is your thing, it's a short trip away to cool your heals by our sea-kissed shores.

Shopping is of course available in the malls that have been rebuilt since that terrible Typhoon Yolanda.

Perhaps you prefer to fish in our nearby river and bring your catch back to BBQ for dinner.

For our visitors that like to sing and dance, we are always pleased join with you for Karaoke.

Our Neighborhood

The beautiful Filipino people's smiles offer the pathway to generous and kind hearts. Our neighbourhood is friendly and there will be no shortage of people willing to share laughter or offer a helping hand if you need.

You will feel your stress levels dissipate as you enter a world that seems set back in time whilst also enjoying the luxuries that our warm and loving home offers.

We revel in the opportunity to share with our guests about their life and to learn from them as we share our experiences.

Internet
We can arrange internet for you at a cost of 50 PHP per day (about $1.20 USD). Please be aware that the internet signal is not strong here in Ormoc so it can be frustrating. Internet cafes in the city centre offer a bit stronger signal, but even there, it's not easy to have good internet. It's just the reality of our location. Sometimes that is a good thing because it takes pressure of being contactable away, to lower your stress.

Getting around

Buses are low cost and convenient and can take you easily to the main Ormoc city proper.

We can arrange for private transport with a driver if you wish to go somewhere off the beaten track, either by motorcycle or tricycle. If you prefer a car we can arrange that too. All you have to do is ask.

In short, it's pretty easy to get to where you want to go in Ormoc.

Other Things to Note

We have a washing machine in our home. You are welcome to use it, and if you prefer not to do that while you're on holidays, we can do that for you for a small additional fee price per kilo - 50 PHP per kilo (that's about $1-2 USD per kilo). Your laundry will arrive to your room fresh clean and neatly folded with a smile.

House Rules
We prefer non-smokers that are respectful and well behaved. We don't mind some drinking with our guests but we prefer responsible and controlled drinkers with good temperament.
We ask guests to please turn off electrical appliances and lights when not in use because electricity is very expensive.

Guest access

Your room has a comfortable timber bed with good quality mattress, with fresh linen and fluffy towels. You have your own mini refrigerator and sound system with Ipod/iphone doc. The room is lockable with a key, and strong security grills on windows so you can rest assured that you and your items are safe and secure.

Interaction with guests

If you wish to socialise with our family we will welcome you to sit with us and chat, eat with us when you want, sing with us too. But if you prefer to stay in the privacy of your room, that's ok too.

The main TV is in the living room. We have cable but have to pay for use every time, so if you want cable TV, just ask and we can arrange for that. The cost for cable is 400 PHP per week (that's a bit less than $10 USD).

If you want TV in the privacy of your room, we can arrange that too. Just ask us.

Other things to note

We have dogs that live on our land, but they do not enter our home. They are outside dogs. Our dogs are great guard dogs but also friendly to our guests.

Awesome room, great bathroom, aircon was a life saver in the heat. Ingkoy picked me up on time at the airport and it was a close journey to their home. I could easily travel to the city centre when needed because a lot of transport and so cheap. Honestly you can't find a hotel this good. I highly recommend it if you don't mind having a room in someone elses home. My room was secure with a lock and key, and every comfort imaginable. This is rare in Philippines. If you're going to Ormoc, it's gotta be the best available. And this family is so kind and sweet, I didn't want to leave

Christopher's sister, Eleanor, made us feel very welcome. As a family they were extremely hospitable in looking after our needs. The breakfast was good and more than just basic as provided in other places. The bed was big and very comfortable. The location was great in the countryside. On our last morning we took a stroll through the fields to the Tzu-Chi Love Village which was a donation by the Taiwanese Tzu-Chi charitable foundation that provided 1,300 housing units to victims of the Yolanda typhoon. On the previous day we took a multi-cab ride for about an hour up into the mountains where there were hot, thermal springs at Tonganen. Although there was no swimming pool there, we did manage to bath in a cold water stream and pool. It was very enjoyable in the tropical forest, even when a sudden torrential downpour caught us out in the open. The people up in the mountains are very friendly.

The room was better than described. We didn't know we would have an airconditioner which was much appreciated during such hot weather. Also, the windows are fully screened so no bugs iwth security bars on windows and a lock on the room door. The cabinet in the room had a key lock also which meant we had somewhere safe to leave our valuables. There were roadworks being carried out near the home so water was often off during the day. Such a lovely bathroom all to ourselves it was a shame the water was only on at night. Christopher's family made sure we had clean drinking water in a dispenser in our room and brought buckets of water to our bathroom for bathing. Surprisingly it wasn't very hard at all to shower from a bucket. It wasn't their fault and did their best to make us comfortable. We are sure once roadworks are completed the water to the home will be good again. The room was clean & comfortable. We had our own fridge and basic utensils to store and prepare food in our room, but we could use the kitchen any time. The room is of a high quality for Philippines. We stayed at many places on our journey through Philippines. Other than high standard hotels we found nothing as good as this. The family couldn't do enough for us, so hospitable. Highly recommended for such a low price, you'll struggle to find better.

Thank you Melody & Laurie for being so understanding about the roadworks and water situation. We did all that we could to make up for it and we know you appreciated that, so thank you. We wish you safe travels and hope you will return to our home again some day. Mabuhay! Christopher & Family Anoos

I enjoyed a comfortable farm stay in Leyte. Since I was from busy Tokyo, I'd like to be relaxed away from the city accessible to the town. Christopher's house was just the place what I need. He actually doesn't live there but managed everything contacting with his family in the village. His parents took care of me very much...and his relatives, too. My room had a refridge, fan, hot shower, mosquite net and nice breeze. I visited a local school and saw the damage/recovery from the typhoon. and had a family trip to the lake Danao by pickup truck. All experiences here are my good memories. still missing the people and their Kinilaw :)

The hosts were wonderful. Ingoy picked me up from the Transit centre. The house was lovely and my room was beautiful. I felt very at home and safe. So clean and comfortable. Everything I could ever want. It felt like a 5 star hotel with Eleanor tending to my every need. She even brought my slippers to the door when I arrived. I had a hot shower with shampoo conditioner body wash provided, hair dryer, my own refrigerator. It was great to have sound system to enjoy my music when I was alone, but I really loved eating with the family and singing with them with Karaoke after dinner. They said I had a good singing voice, haha but I'm sure they were just being kind. This is a lovely family, so warm kind friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you want Ormoc City accommodation. It's hard to find quality accommodation in Ormoc. I'm so glad I met this family and stayed in the most beautiful comfortable place. I did not want to leave because it really was restful and the surroundings were so pretty. Don't hesitate to book this place. Such a reasonable price for so much quality.

It's more fun in Philippines, and that describes me and my family. I am Christopher and my family includes my Mama and Father with 2 sisters and a nephew still living at home. We also have two brothers living abroad. I also travel a lot for my work overseas, so sometimes I am not living there, but I still handle all Airbnb enquiries for my family.

We are farmers so we work hard, and at the end of the day we enjoy eating together, singing with Karaoke and laughing a lot. We want to invite you to share our beautiful new home (completely rebuilt since the 2013 Typhoon Yolanda). Our life is simple but relaxing. If you are looking for an authentic Philippine lifestyle change to relax and reconnect with life's simple pleasures, then we are interested to meet you.

We are offering a beautiful room with a double bed and your own ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower with hot and cold water, and washstand.
Ceiling fan with light, two windows with gorgeous Philippine farmland view
We have a large home. Our kitchen is complete with gas stove, range hood, sink, washing machine.
