Welcome to the Rivermont Hideaway. Your own cottage that once served as a butler's quarters, this one bedroom cottage provides an open, inviting space while still maintaining a cozy charm. The main floor plan includes a galley-style kitchen and a beautifully appointed living area. Upstairs you’ll find a newly renovated full bathroom and bedroom with plenty of natural light. Includes off-street parking and is walking distance to parks and restaurants. Close to Liberty and downtown, too.

The space
The entire space is yours.

Its original build was as the carriage house for the manor home out front. Later it was converted to the butler’s apartment. When the butler got caught red-handed with the candlestick in the study, the apartment became available for your enjoyment.

Where you’ll be

Lynchburg, Virginia, United States

Rivermont is a national historic district of incredible houses tracing the south bank of the James River. Situated on a series of rolling hills, the opulence of century-old architecture is a feast for the eyes. Homes with stately white columns, wide front porches, towering brick chimneys, and slate-gray rooftops are just a portion of what gives this unique neighborhood its charm. Rivermont is a must-see for anyone that admires the elaborate homes of a bygone era.

But Rivermont isn't just historic homes. Nestled in its heart is the small, but beautiful campus of Randolph College, as well as many restaurants and cafes and a riverside park that make this a great place to explore.

If you’re looking for restaurants and nightlife, our property is only two miles from the downtown Riverfront which offers a wide variety of locally-owned restaurants and bars.

For those interested in nature, we are 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, the James and Maury rivers offer excellent canoeing and kayaking, and river tubing. As outdoor adventure enthusiasts, we will be more than happy to offer suggestions on exploring the nearby beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.

For eight years I had the unique opportunity to work as a travel guide on a luxury cruise ship. The ship’s voyages included Europe, South America, Antarctica, and Southeast Asia. In addition to seeing those exotic places, I learned the value of hospitality done right. Now, my lovely partner Bonnie and I want to share with you our love for travel, people, and old houses We are fortunate enough to blend those passions into a livelihood by offering our apartments through Airbnb.
