This is a highly recommended stay! Satoshi-san is friendly, can communicate well in English, and will actively help you with planning the details of your trip. A few big pluses for me: he picked me up from and sent me to the station, there were fresh towels everyday, I got to experience a kotatsu and sleeping in a futon. His breakfast (only on weekends) is crazy good and a must-try, as is the shop Capital Bakery near his home. Bamboo-san is a really friendly old man who reminds me of my grandpa, and a delight to talk to :)) Airbnb is of course an agreement between two parties; I truly hope that everyone will respect the host's rules (no eating in the guest room with tatami mat, wear socks or the provided slippers in the house) such that others will continue to be able to enjoy this experience.

Satoshi San has been a great host for us. He has exhibited professionalism in our whole stay. He gave very detailed and specific instructions in direction of how to get to his house. He also picked us up when we first arrived and sent us to the railway station when we left for the next destination. The house is modest and clean. The breakfast he made was western on the first day and Japanese second day which both are delicious. When we came back late, he took the time to sms us to remind us of the last train schedule which is very caring. We enjoyed our stay very much. Would recommend others to stay, especially if you plan to visit Nara which is quite close.

This is the first time I booked my accommodation with Airbnb. I stayed with 4 different host. Needless to say, Satoshi is the best amongst all. He is very professional and takes this business very seriously. Before I started out , he wrote to remind me of my pending travel. This gives me the reassurance that he is prepared for my coming stay. He gave very specific instructions and met us at the train station. Fetch us to his place via his own car, his house is spotlessly clean , guess what, he changed our towels every day!. He is very systematic with maps for places of interest, bus services and showed us how to get to his house. His ¥500 b'fast is super, you are like dining in a restaurant! Every morning, he gave very personalised service of fetching us to the train station without cost. Even though he has 2 group of guests, he does not make us go together, same with b'fast, he will set it separately to give us privacy and comfort. Personally, I felt that he gave 5

Satoshi’s house just between Osaka and Nara, it’s very convenient for trip of Osaka and Nara. And it’s a quiet chome you will live comfortably. Near the house there are also some shops and supermarket, including Aeon. Satoshi is so warm and nice, he will give you help: how to find the views, how to speak some Japanese words which can help you to communicate with local people. He also prepared breakfast for me everyday. And pick you up when you arrive or leave. I enjoy the time of living in his house.

Satoshi is the best host I've ever met on Airbnb. He is a traditional Japanese and so is his house. I and my friend have enjoyed his traditional wood house, traditional tatami, and traditional Japanese breakfast. His house is clean and tidy, the tatami is comfortable, and it's quiet around except birds' singing. At the same time, we had very good communication before the start of the trip and during the trip. After we arrived at Oji Station, Satoshi picked us up on time and introduced us the restaurants and public transportations around. What superised us was the information booklets and detailed maps he prepared for us. After we checked out, we went from Nara to Osaka, Satoshi even helped us organizing the trip in Osaka before we checked out. The housekeeper, Mr Bamboo, is as nice as Satoshi - very hard working, modest and warmhearted. Staying with Satoshi and Mr Bamboo was one of the best experiences we had in Japan.

Satoshi is unsympathetic when I had an emergency situation that left me unable to stay at his place. I booked his place in advance and even added extra days which ended up costing me a weeks worth of lodging fees. When I could no longer come, he insisted that his time "communicating" with me and his strict policy on non refunds was justified and he pocketed the entire sum even though I was struggling to get to the area (and failed due to financial reasons). Satoshi is unreasonably cold and will take your money for sending you a few messages on airbnb. Be careful!
