Gemma's place is a fantastic location and wonderfully quirky and as described. The service she uses to manage the property did a nice job keeping it clean. However, it did feel a little impersonal.

I do have assistance with looking after my home as well as giving my guests the best possible experience, something that is very important to me. They try to provide you with as much information as possible so you have everything that you need for your stay. A phone number is also provided if you require to speak to someone in person, they are available for you as you require. Thank you for the honest review, we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you enjoyed and did not enjoy about your stay at our place so that we can always improve on the experience for future guests. I do use a property management company, Hostmaker, to help me look after my place for my guests. Hostmaker try and send the same check-in person to greet my guests, however unfortunately the man checking you in this time was new to the property, as you mentioned. I'm sorry that in this instance that the greeter was underprepared. He also mentioned that he did alert you to the few maintenance issues at the property, and was also able to show you the heating, so apologies if there was some miscommunication here. After you confirm your booking on Airbnb, a house manual is sent to you via email, so perhaps there was confusion here as you mentioned you were looking for a printed manual in the flat. I'm sorry for this confusion and we will make a note to make that more clear to future guests. Regarding the issues with the cleanliness of the property, I was particularly upset to learn this. That is certainly not up to my standards and I have discussed this with Hostmaker. I wish you had mentioned this during your stay and I would have of course arranged for an additional complimentary cleaning! I also organise for a deep clean to occur at the property every couple of months, and this is booked in for this month. I will ensure the deep clean takes care of the bath and the oven. I have been proud of my cleaning rating through Airbnb, which is very much above average so I'm really sorry that Hostmaker disappointed you on this front. They have pledged to correct all the issues you raise and I appreciate all your kind words about our home.
