The space
We built a new, modern, private studio apt, with many tiny house design ideas, that can sleep up to four guests. On the large loft (with a steep ladder and excellent railings) a medium firm Nectar mattress invites restful sleep and the soft futon in the living area below becomes a queen/full bed for two. We have organic cotton sheets. The well laid out kitchen area boosts all new appliances: microwave, toaster oven, hot water cooker, coffee grinder for pour over, and a five burner gas stove with oven integrated broiler. A drop leaf table can seat four at mealtime, become a wonderful spot for laptop friendly work or for playing board games, all under the large, south facing windows, with views of the backyard. A beautiful luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower and unique historic elements is a delightful oasis.
There are puzzles, board and card games for rainy or snowy days, and there is a new smart TV which you can access with your own accounts (Netflix, Amazon Prime, ...)

The narrow driveway needs some cautious driving but then your compact car will only be a few steps away from your door. Our tenants in the back house have the other off street parking spot in the back. Street parking is usually available, too.

There will be an outdoor patio for guests at a later date.

The house is on a short and quiet street, with many home owners. The rust belt city of Buffalo, has had it's ups and downs; we recommend watching the short documentary "Buffalo: America's Best Designed City" on YouTube to begin understanding our "All America City" on beautiful Lake Erie.

Where you’ll be

Buffalo, New York, United States

The Hidden Eco Studio is in the diverse Grant-Ferry neighborhood, a heavily residential area with some commerce happening along Grant Street, West Ferry and on Niagara Street. There are several schools, houses of worship, banks, pharmacies, grocery stores, gas stations, SUNY Buffalo State College, some seasonal outdoor farmers markets, restaurants, pubs/bars, art galleries and museums, Five Loaves Farm, there even is a mushroom farm in nearby Blackrock, called Flat12Mushrooms.

Buffalo is enjoying and working hard on it's Renaissance every day. There is a huge offering of activities, from discovering historic and new architecture to kayaking at Canalside, from shopping big name brands to local gems, from eating yourselves silly through our foodie restaurant landscape to working off the calories afterwards :) in our world famous park system. You can visit micro breweries, wine places (and nearby vineyards), many cafes, and more ... If your desire is to see the amazing and roaring Niagara Falls you can reach them in about 14 minutes by car. If your heart is energized by attending a live sports event, we got football, baseball, hockey and more ...

As Buffalo is a work in progress (aren't we all?) you may see some former decay and signs of poverty and historic abandonment in some of its neighborhoods. But Buffalo is also vibrant!

Having lived on the West side since 1997, I would say it's a bit of a choice how you experience the city of Buffalo and the West side. We have helped with, and seen, Buffalo's enormous progress!

Come visit; the "City of Good Neighbors" got you!
