The space

Bracken House is a newly renovated 1,085 sq. ft. bungalow, bright and comfortable - pleasantly situated on a 2/3 acre property. The bedrooms all feature large windows that look out on the parks and vineyards about - you'll see many birds that frequent the mature gardens on the property. Cozy up in front of the wood-burning fireplace, and gather round the harvest table or small island adjoining the fully equipped kitchen.

Bracken House has a two-night minimum for each booking. For reservations of a week or less, unless specifically requested, guests will have access to the main floor of the house only. There is a BBQ and large patio table and lounge area on the rear patio, and casual seating on the front patio. There is a fire pit in the backyard, which makes for further gathering possibilities. There is a large room in the basement with two hide-a-bed couches (double beds), large screen tv, electric fireplace, and small dining table. There is also a third full bathroom adjacent to that basement room. This is available if there are more than 6 guests, and for an additional fee. Just as described. Had everything we needed for a family gathering. Lots of room inside and out. Best appointed house we have stayed in. Would recommend it. Very quiet at night for sleeping.

Bracken House is even more beautiful than the pictures reflect. We loved every minute of our stay here and were sad to have to leave it. Ideally located near vineyards and orchards, the home features beautiful gardens and unique artwork. It has been lovingly restored and offers all the amenities you could possibly need to create a wonderful home away from home. I would not hesitate to rebook a stay at Bracken House!

Jodie's place was exactly as advertised. It was very modern and well decorated. Our family stayed there for our wedding. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Very clean and quiet. I would recommend this place for all our friends visiting NOTL!

I am an artist who works sculpturally, lives creatively, teaches art at various elementary schools, and runs a successful B&B. Our family are all committed Christians, and we strive to live that out relationally and with integrity. And thankfulness.
I enjoy my book group, gardening, and our chickens. Our town is small and quaint; we have some good friendships here. Life expands even more as we have come to form friendships with some of the Jamaican seasonal workers who labour in the orchards and vineyards around us. Currently, I sit on the National Board of Young Life, and it is a privelege to work in this way with a wonderful organization. I count Young Life people among my most cherished life-long friendships. That responsibility heads me out to Western Canada a couple of times a year, where I can also take time to connect with family. My sister is a painter, and we love to get in the studio together (and watch a few movies in the evenings).
I do love film, and when I am feeling particularly in need of comfort I'll plug in a Jane Austen or Elizabeth Gaskell. Food is a good thing, and we have our share of local seasonal yummies around us. And don't get me started on music: Mozart to Bill Munroe to Van Morrison to Talking Heads - and a lot of in between.
