The space
The 480 sq. ft. Tiny is located in an existing farm structure on a privately owned Heritage Farm located in South Eastern Minnesota. The oldest Family Farm in the County and one of the oldest in the State of Minnesota.

Deemed a "Century Farm" by the Minnesota State Fair in 1976. we are closing in on 150 years. Owned and Operated by our family for six generations, without interruption since 1858.

The farm went completely sustainable and chemical free in 1987.

Where you're staying is within the farm yard, but also included in the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest.

Authentic 150 year old family farm; now organic, sustainable, solar-powered and chemical free.

Unplug in the charming, rustic, handcrafted 488 sq. ft. space that pays homage to the founding family who settled and worked this land.

Established in 1854, The Homestead is one of only a handful of remaining Century Farms in Minnesota; this Pioneer Property boasts an inviting 25 PRIVATELY OWNED acres for you to explore.

Certified as a National Wildlife Habitat, there is an abundance of animals and birds in the heavily wooded, pristine moors at the bottom of the hill.
You get the feel of being on the farm, but without any livestock. We just grow organic hay now.

Guests can also access a private 2 person soaking tub and laundry room.

Self-Check In at the house using the key pad.

Enjoy locally sourced snacks and drinks thoughtfully provided by your Hosts, while you explore the tiny house. Whimsically curated decor sets the tone.

Put away the basic groceries you purchased en-route. Let Host(s) know you arrived safely.

We know there is no view from the accommodations, because of where it is located. You're meant to go outside. Like, FR. ;-)

The property is included in the Richard Dorer Hardwood Forest; A 1 million acre Preserve in Minnesota; only 45,000 acres of the land is State owned, with the remainder owned by private individuals. You are standing in the middle of it.

I spent 25 years in the desert cities of California, before re-locating for work and then retiring. My husband is a Rancher. We expect to open our 2nd location soon; a slightly larger 'tiny home' located at Paris Landing, Tennessee in Spring '22 !!!! I prefer to say 'yes' over 'no'. My pronouns are She/Her. During your stay

We are available via phone, text, email for the duration of your stay. Happy to answer any questions. We live on the South end of the property during the warmer months; so you may see us from about 150 yards away. We'll wave. That's about it unless you have a problem.

You may see my husband disappear over the hill in the 4 wheeler to check the fences.

During colder months, we are likely at our other property in Florida.

You may see some cattle down in the woods. They are fenced off. I have dogs, they are very friendly. They may bark. Do not be alarmed. They love people.
