Very nice place on a beautiful spot. The cottage was bigger than we expected. And it was nice for the kids to play outside. Feeding the alpaca s was fun!! Dianne is a good and friendly host!

We had an amazing experience. Our daughter loved feeding the alpacas and watching the animals surrounding us. It was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We didn't have to go far to enjoy nature and gorgeous views. We would love to return another time and wish we could have stayed longer.

Wren Cottage was the perfect place in Dartmoor for our 3 person family trip through the UK. Diane was always really quick in replying and so our arrival went smoothly and a welcoming cream tea was waiting for us in our cottage. This holiday home is extremely well equipped for self-catering and offers lots of storage space for personal items on top of it. It is situated perfectly for city dwellers who want to escape to the country for a bit - the views are stunning and the adjacent terrace and garden are beautiful and well kept. The sofa bed for the third person was surprisingly comfortable and very easy to put up and take down again in the morning. While your mobile signal might be a little patchy there, the WiFi was flawless, so if you want to really disconnect you might want to switch your devices off completely. For our day trips we never had to drive very far to find lovely spots to visit and enjoy the nature and we also found lots of "inspirational material" provided in the cottage. Diane and Steve were also very accommodating when we had to wait for breakdown service in the morning of our departure because of a flat tire. We absolutely recommend staying in this lovely place, if you want to visit Dartmoor - we would certainly do it again.

Dreadful weather but the cottage was cosy and warm, nice views over fields, good location to explore Dartmoor. Lovely cream tea at arrival. The kids enjoyed watching the lamas outside.

What a fantastic place! Steve and Diane were very friendly , welcoming and accommodating. Great communication from the start and throughout, and the cream tea was a nice touch. The cottage is in such a beautiful setting with views over the valley and so quiet and peaceful. We all loved watching the alpacas, birds and squirrels through the window when it was raining. It was such a great experience for the children to help feed the alpacas, and Steve and Diane went out of their way to let us know when this would be happening each day. This kind of care and friendliness makes such a difference to a holiday. The cottage is more spacious than it looks in the photos. It has everything you need and might want - kids were entertained with jigsaws, cards and dominoes and I had all the information I needed to plan walks (both from Steve and from a number of guidebooks in the cottage) and the wifi is good. The kitchen is really well stocked - there's even one of those things for getting a tight lid off a jar! I usually don't sleep well away from home but the beds and the bedding in Robin Cottage are very luxurious and comfortable. I slept really well, thank you. Perfect holiday cottage with excellent hosts.

The cottage was perfect, even better described and in a perfect location for access to the Moor. Diane went the extra step further and left us some delicious scones for our arrival.

What a fantastic break. The local area is perfect for exploring, it is on the doorstep to many walks, the river Dart and the Dart Country Park. Ashburton is the nearest village and is picturesque . A great balance of 'away from it all' and 'near the larger towns'. The Wren is a beautiful spacious holiday cottage. The photos simply do not do the place justice, we experienced so much more in real life. The living area is luxurious, comfortable and really well laid out, the kitchen has all that you need and more. We loved our break with our two young children. The surrounding visiting wildlife of birds, sheep, horses and squirrels kept the kids fascinated. By far the most favourite part of the holiday for the kids was the Alpacas, so much fun. Thank you Diane and Steve for your patience with us and the children, Aplaca feeding was a highlight for our eldest. Great warm hosts and such a lovely touch with the cream tea on arrival. We are looking forward to coming back again.
