Bee Leng and her friends at Kg Mukut are extremely helpful and considerate. They really make extra effort to ensure my trip is an enjoyable one. Kg Mukut is a quiet and simple village which is just nice for city dweller like me. I highly recommend them to those who want to have a get away trip from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Ong and her friends in Malaysia were really nice and helpful. She helped us to reschedule the ferry tickets, so we could reach to tioman early. The listing was amazing, private and definitely suit for whom looking for peace and quiet. By the way, you can contact Ong to book for lunch or dinner cause there is not much restaurant on the island.

Tioman is amazingly beautiful and the chalet is nice, clean and situated right next to the beach. Kg. Mukut is charmingly weird little village, perfect for someone who wants to do some basic hiking and swimming. The shallow water is covered in corals that hurts your feet but there are some sandy patches are in there. The local restaurants are somewhat limited. All in all, it is a good break from the big city but our weekend felt partly ruined by frustration stemming from the astoundingly difficult transport to and from Kg. Mukut. Although this has nothing to do with the chalet, and might be unique to our visit, future visitors should anyways be aware of this potential problem. Transport is often made out to be simple but then it suddenly becomes very difficult in practice. This certainly was the case on our trip to and from Kg. Mukut, and on our day trip to Juara (another village on the island). Although we were lucky in each case, we were also in each case told that the initially simple transport arrangement we made was not going to work out after all (due to weather or darkness), and that we would have to spend the night at some other village on the island. This was very stressful. Information from the web, host, bus driver, ferry operators and locals proved to be unreliable over and over again. Although we are probably at fault for attempting to book the entire trip ourselves (we erroneously thought that booking bus and ferry services couldn't be that hard), we met other tourists with similar issues. I think this could easily be solved if someone (like the host) wrote an up to date guide on how to make proper travel arrangements to Kg. Mukut.

Response from Ong:
Thank you very much for the feedback! Mukut is a fishing village and sea taxi services may not run due to unfavourable weather conditions as well as safety concerns. We will try our best to assist our guests in getting to Kg Mukut the the best way possible.

Beautiful place! Bee was very responsive and arranging. I really recommend this place for a 2 day stay in a quiet area. Superb coral barrier just in front of the chalet and walking distance to waterfall. If you want to stay longer and visit the Island you should consider staying elsewhere in the West as prices for the boat taxi are nuts (from this place to the North west it is 250rg per pax and you have no choice). Perfect weekend for me!

Staying in Ong's place in Mukut was fantastic. The place itself has everything you need. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a pristine beach town we can highly recommend it. Mukut has hardly any tourism - apart from the 2 resorts about half an hour out. Whilst food options are indeed limited - you can definitely find them with a bit of effort. Make sure to try the breakfast Prata place! Caretakers Aisha and Ros are very helpful with whatever you might need.
