Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, come on up to the mountain. The house is located minutes from Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park & great restaurants. It serves as a great base camp after a day exploring the area.
Set back from the road on five wooded acres, the house is bright, clean and comfortable. It’s perfect for friends or family get-togethers. Hiking, cycling and rock climbing is available just up the road at Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. Tillson Lake is minutes away and offers a great spot to swim, canoe or kayak. Fall offers a beautiful display of color on the Shawangunk Ridge with plenty of local orchards and farms offering apple picking close by.
There are several really good restaurants within a five minute drive and tons more in New Paltz - just 10 minutes away. Close to skydiving, shopping, antique stores, wineries, brewery, art galleries... and nature.
The kitchen is stocked with all of the essentials (plus locally roasted coffee, local maple syrup & honey) and you’re welcome to utilize the fresh potted herbs in season. The house has WiFi, basic cable, DVD player, Netflix, Hulu and a ton of digital channels and music streaming through Roku.
The house is a 1940s Cape Cod and has three bedrooms on two stories. One bedroom is located on the first floor and has a queen-size bed. Two more bedrooms are on the second story. The first has a full-size bed and the second is a daybed with two twins. One of the twin mattresses is a trundle bed and can be raised up to full size. The ceilings are a bit low on the upstairs bedrooms. Tall folks should call ‘dibs’ on the downstairs bedroom. *Please note, there are really steep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms (and I mean REALLY steep stairs) - not ideal for young children (they would need supervision) or anyone who has trouble on stairs. There is only one bathroom on the first floor. It has a standard tub with a shower.
There is a very comfortable sun porch with a futon that is a great spot for reading (or napping). Outdoor seating areas including a BBQ, fire pit, picnic table and bench swing. The house is outfitted with brand new bedding, pillows & towels. The yard and garden are rustic but cute.
The house is comprised of two completely separate apartments in a mother-daughter style. I live in the smaller portion. I am at work more than I am home, but you may see me in the yard. I make myself available for introductions, but lay low most of the time. I have cats but they live with me in my apartment and are never allowed in the rental.
Guests will have full access to the apartment and property.
Interaction with guests
I work way too much. I will be here some of the time but not all of the time. I live on the property with my cats. You may see them in the yard but they do not go into the rental portion of the house.
Other things to note
Cleaning fee: $50
Security Deposit: $250
There is no smoking in the house. Well mannered, housebroken dogs are permitted on leash (so they don't chase my cats). Please enjoy the house and grounds but no fireworks. Please leave the apartment as you found it - empty the refrigerator of food and drink, clean your dishes and leave all used towels in the bathroom hamper. If you could text me when you are checking out, that would be great.
