Nestled in approximately 5 hectares of native kanuka woodland on the side of Little Mt Iron, with stunning views overlooking the Upper Clutha Basin. This unique alpine cottage is super secluded, yet only 7 mins drive from Wanaka town centre.

The space
This super comfortable and somewhat quirky cottage is oozing with character, styled in an eclectic mix of modern rustic furniture and decor. It is located in the native kanuka woodland up on the eastern facing side of Little Mt Iron with stunning views over the Upper Clutha Basin.

The cottage has generous, well equipped kitchen, open plan living/dining area with a cozy lounge, classic schist fireplace that's been retrofitted with a toasty log burner. It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer with three sets of French doors that open out to the verandah wrapping around the northern and eastern sides of the house.

The master bedroom has a super comfortable king bed and there is a queen bed on the mezzanine floor above the living area. There is also a third room that is used as a home office and available to use for working or studying. I just ask that guests let me know in advance if you would like to use that space. That way I can make sure my papers and things are cleared away giving you maximum space to be productive and get creative!

This is a unique space which I am lucky to call home. It is my permanent home that I open up for others to enjoy while I am not here. I store as many of my personal belongings as possible to give that holiday home feel but you might come across the odd possession tucked away somewhere!

Wanaka and the stunning Otago region has so much to offer by way of adventure, natural beauty, and luxury experiences.

The neighbourhood on the north eastern side of Mt Iron, is far enough from the hustle and bustle, yet still conveniently located close to the lake and town centre. Big properties out this side of town mean there is plenty of space and privacy. From the house it is only a 10 minute walk to the Hikuwai Reserve, which connects to the walking and mountain bike track network along the Clutha River. Albert Town village (with the most delicious patisserie in all of the Clutha Basin - Pembroke Patisserie) is a 20 minute walk away. The start of the public Mt Iron walking track network is about a 15 minute walk away.
