Previously an 18th century bread-oven, this unique self-catering cottage has been beautifully renovated. The stone façade of the original oven has been retained as a focal point on the ground floor lounge and leads to a circular kitchen (the interior of the old oven itself). The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

This self catering property has wooden floors and stone tiles throughout, and a wooden staircase leading to the first floor of the gite traces the original path of the oven's old curved chimney.

Two bedrooms are located on the first floor of the cottage: the master bedroom features an oeil de boeuf window and original wooden beams and the second bedroom, (with twin beds), has full-length windows. Both rooms adjoin a bathroom with a shower. Private garden.

A swimming pool is available to all guests at Laborie.

We have just spent a perfect few days staying in the 'Bread Oven' provided by Sean and Cecile. We loved the quirky nature of the accomodation, and the very unusual kitchen! The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed the cool off in the swimming pool at the end of a hot day. The icing on the cake was meeting Whisky the cat and Mia the puppy (along with the delightful Ava) who made our stay seem 'home from home'! Sean was exceptionally helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and pointed us in the direction of some fantastic local restaurants. We would love to come back and stay for a bit longer and explore the beautiful surrounding area more thoroughly, and to check on Mia's progress!

We had a wonderful time in the bread oven, such a perfect place for a nice getaway or holiday. We enjoyed (especially our little boy of 10 months) the lovely garden and pool and the place was really clean. Chilling by the pool, or walking in the lovely cities in the area, everything is possible there. Both Sean and Cecile mad us feel very welcome and I would definitely come back one day! Thank you for this wonderful holiday!

This is a great location, the property has been converted to a very good standard. The hosts were helpful, welcoming and available but never intrusive. It is extremely well placed to access some of the great attractions of the area and within easy reach of larger towns.

Hello Cécile & Sean, we booked your Bread Oven for the first week of May. The house is very beautiful and we found the house just like the picture´s on Airbnb. The swimming pool was a great success. We loved the way you both invited us and showed us around and gave advise about the neighbourhood. Super quit garden for the kids enough room to play. We have had a week of real vacation. We loved your hospitallity very much. We hope to come back very soon. Berber & Richard and Kids

We loved staying here. The house is very comfortable with all the amenities you need including very good internet access, considering its an old stone building. Sean and Cecile have done a wonderful job renovating it. The property includes a pool and well mantained greenery next to a countryside that is as far as the eye can see. The owners are very friendly, speak English and offer advice on interesting places to visit in the Dordogne area. The neighborhood is quiet and beautifully dotted with charming farmhouses and sprawling corn and wheat fields. You can wake up to chirping birds and sunshine, take leisurely walks to a pretty town called St. Sozy and drive within an hour of some of the most interesting and historic parts of Dordogne.
