Close to three ski fields, Haast Pass and Mt Aspiring National Park. Be as active or as relaxed as you like.

Our condo is in a new complex in the lovely, leafy and quiet settlement of Albert Town, adjacent to the mighty Clutha River flowing from Lake Wanaka. Walking and cycling trails along the river and around nearby Mt Iron, abound.

Adjacent to the complex is the intimate Albert Town shopping center, which has a pub/eatery, a grocery store, liquor shop, laundry and the scrumptious French Patisserie.

Albert Town is directly on the main route to the Haast Pass and West Coast of New Zealand, yet only minutes from Wanaka town (with its many cafes, shops, galleries and unique cinemas) and, of course the gorgeous lake, which has swimming, kayaking, boating, sailing, rock climbing, helicoptering and other attractions. The inspiring Mt Aspiring National Park and its trails can be accessed via both Wanaka and the Haast Highway.

In winter there is easy access to the downhill ski slopes of Cardona and Treble Cone and cross-country skiing at the Snow Farm, which in summer double as mountain biking venues. (There are also mountain-biking trails adjacent to the Clutha River and at Glendhu Bay, beyond Wanaka town).

Queenstown, with its airport, vineyards, steamboat jet-boating, bungy-jumping, restaurants, night-clubs and other attractions is only a hour's drive away, over the scenic Crown Range road, via the small historic gold mining town of Cardrona, with its original 1800's pub and a distillery.

The town of Cromwell, with its lake, historic precinct and the world-class Dunstan bike trail and many vineyards is 35-40 minutes drive south of Albert Town.

We are a friendly couple who love food, wine, books, and have a passion for the outdoors. Neil is an occasional conservation volunteer and Inge likes to run along the lake and surrounding hills. We have a good knowledge of the area and where to go for day tramps/walks/bike rides/kayak trips. We can advise on longer tramps or adventures. Our dog is a lively standard poodle-labrador cross who loves guests and their pets.
